Keeps calling me. Don't know who it is. Call it back and it says the number is disconnected.

Many calls from this number. Leaves no messages. Caller ID indicates "local area call", but the area code 224 is no where near where I live.

These calls are made on behalf of an organization that calls itself FOP Lodge 4 (fraternal order of police).  They are trying to put the squeeze on you for money.  What does the lodge actually do?  I don't know but I looked up the local chapter in my county and saw their meeting place is in a bar.  So what does your donations get used for?  I don't know but you may be able to figure it out.

I called the number back, got a voicemail, said please leave a message and then they said they were AMVETS. So they were calling for money(donation)

I have been calls every other day from this number.  I never answer and no message is left.

I have been getting calls from this number for the past three weeks, morning and then around 7:00 to 8:00 in the evening, just got a call right now at 3:45.  I do not pick up, but I too hear static and then music at the end.  I do not live in the same area code, I am in the 217 area code in Illinois.  Is there ANYONE we can contact about this?????

Person keeps calling for me, asking by my name.  I have no clue who this is so I tell them they have the wrong number and they hang up, however, they call back every day.  I have asked who they are and they hang up.  I have asked them to take me off their list, and they hang up, I have screamed I will call the police, they hang up....however, they call back constantly! Who are these people????  It says local area call, yet I live in the West suburbs, no where near a 224 area code.  When you call the number back, its says it has been disconnected, but yet the same number keeps popping up, I am confused??

I just got a call from this number this week and can't figure out who it was.  They left no message.

Every evening, for about a week now and between 6:45-7:45, we have been getting one call from a 224 area code number.  Once a week there is a voicemail, but it is just background noise.  I am guessing telemarketer or a collection agency (every now and then we get calls for people who either haven't had this number for at least 10 years or the guy one block over).

It is a local number where I am in Illinois, its a new prefix for the area, however there is never a message and I keep getting these calls, I am also on the DO NOT CALL list through the government so I am really confused

I keep getting calls from this number.  I usually don't answer; when the answering machine picks up, it just makes static sounds.  Sometimes I pick up and just listen.  There's a man saying hello and my name repeatedly; I just ignore  him.  I did find out this number is connected to an AMVET organization that got their not-for-profit license pulled for deceptive practices.  I am on the no-call list, but that doesn't help.  I have reported them several times, but that doesn't help.  I don't know how to block the number.

I got a call from this number lastnight about 8:45pm and a guy said his name was Brock West and wanted me to do a favor for him and I said "I don't think so" and hung up. I did a *69 because I don't have caller id and this is the number they gave me.  I would never bother calling it back. But I assumed it was a scam artist.  
I never talk to anybody, I just hang up and a few times I have hung up on my friends or relatives. They just call me back.

Just received a call from them and told them I couldn't give any money today.  He hung up on me.  He said he was from zentell.  Not sure what that is, but I doubt it exists.

Our  phone line has caller ID, so we use it to screen out telemarketers (the bulk of our calls, unfortunately). This number always left a voice mail -- a long, sexual sigh or groan.

This happened every day about the same time for several months. My best friend was in final stages of cancer so it was just easier to erase the messages. Once she passed away, I called my local provider to report the issue and found that I could  block some calling numbers -- which is what I did. The peace and quiet is welcome.

Call from this number this morning. I wasn't near the phone with caller ID so answered - automated message from AmVets. I hung up and then checked for the phone number on another phone with ID. We've gotten repeated calls from a "630" number - same thing. No message just noise/static if we don't pick up. Now if Amvets wants donations using these tactics they sure won't be getting anything from us. We are in east central IL - nowhere near the northern burbs.

1-224-643-0085 has called multiple times,answering machine starts about a second of dead air or noise similar to a harmonica tone.Whether or not they are the AMVETS bad business policy nontheless.

Repeated calls from this number, caller insists on talking to my wife.  won't stop calling (about 1 call every other day)

Multiple calls per day with no message on the machine. No answer when I actually answer the phone. Very annoying.

I've been receiving calls for a few weeks from this number. I know 224 is a local prefix for Northbrook and other northern suburbs. I normally do not answer cell numbers I don't recognize and there is no msg left, just street noise. I tried answering twice, the first time some guy answered me asking for a slaughtered verbalization of my name and when I replied with an "excuse me?" he hung up. The 2nd time I had a guy offhandedly say an expletive (!) and followed it with "you know what I mean". This is creepy. Who or what is this??
