We keep getting phone calls from Backbone Comm. So far there have been three different numbers
201-595-0769, 267-352-6562 & 732-414-7106. Will not be picking up when I see this come through on the caller id information.

They called today and they were asking me to sign up for a free packet for Direct Buy.

Have had several calls from them claiming to be calling from Kings Creek Williamsburg, inviting me to be a special guest and to win a prize of a cruise or some such. Have asked several times to be taken off the list. Unbelievable.

Same as Charles. Asian female who invited me to some open house for "Our Company" in Richardson. She never mentioned a company name and continued to try and sell me when I asked to be removed from their list. I finally had to ask her if she was retarded, which got her to shut up and stop selling me.

just received a call, caller ID was this number, claiming they were calling from Richardson, TX (about 10 miles away), Asian sounding females (sales rep and her manager), trying to push some type of vacation package.

Just received this call today. My son answered the call. The caller asked for me by my first name. My son said the guy mumbled and sounded foreign, also said his last name was Rodriguez. When my son said I wasn't home, he said he would call back. After some research on the area code, I came across this site. Has to be a phishing scam. I appreciate everyone posting as I won't answer calls with a 224 area code.

Didn't pick up, the message was an operator telling me or them ? that if they need help dialing call the operator, then a whole bunch of loud short beeps like dadadadadadadadada then it disconnected, caller ID said it's an Illinois call.
Thanks everybody for posting details, we gather info back on them.

Picked up without paying attention to number. Said hello, heard alot of talking in the background but noe responded to me. Then they hung up. My caller ID showed Backbone Commun. When I called it back it said "this account is no longer valid".
It also creeps me out to get these kind of calls

Just received a call from this number another one in telemarketer scam department.
I told them to take my name off of their list.
I just wish they would go away and never return.

Once I said "hello?" they stayed on the line for a few seconds and hung up. Creeps me out to get those kinds of calls.

I got the same call as well. A man with a thick accent wants to know if my alarm system works well. I hung up on him. I'm calling my alarm company ASAP.

Got the same call three different times now. Answered once for a call from an Asian sounding woman saying she was from Honeywell, the maker of my alarm system. She addressed me by my correct name. I hung up on her.
This is definitely some type of scam. Do not answer or provide any personal info whatsoever.

Sorry buddy, they are not automated. They went to VM and you could tell it was a call center or a house party. So definitely a scam HQ. I'd personally like to answer to catch their M/O. Idiot who called probaly should have hung up but left 30 seconds of background conversation.

Samantha Jones called to discuss my security system from Honeywell. She called twice within a week. We do not have Honeywell, though a guy in a Honeywell shirt also knocked on my door claiming we had their system. Sounds kind of fishy to me - perhaps a team that is scoping out the neighborhood?

Woman with Chinese accent said she was the manufacturer of our home's alarm system and wanted to make sure everything was working properly??? Very odd and hard to understand.

They called once yesterday & again just now. I didn't answer ((*I give you my word, that's your best strategy)) but the caller ID readout of "Backbone Comm..." piqued my curiosity enough to google the number, which brings me to...
Hi Dave.
I've gotten these before, too, and they are incredibly annoying! But there's good news, and maybe-good-news. These calls are 100% automated, and their sole purpose is to see when you're most likely to answer. Sickeningly efficient, isn't it? Bots work longer & cost less; and putting all of the menial, repetitive tasks on auto-play means that the sales reps can spend 100% of their time trying to talk people into s*** they don't want, need, or have the money for. Ugh!
Anyway, stop answering calls from this number, and any others you don't recognize. Your number will get logged as a dead-end and they'll move on after a few tries. The more you pick up, the more likely they are to keep calling, and the longer it'll take for them to stop. That's the good news. Simple solution:) One I trust, & that I can vouch for.
Now this next one I'm not so sure of lol but it's definitely worth mentioning. If you press pound a few times before they hang up, it confuses things enough that the call doesn't get marked down. It sounds plausible enough but it feels too urban-legend for me. ...As in "I answered by mistake and now they keep calling! What do I do?!" is probably posted somewhere with "dude just keep hitting pound next time" as the top-rated answer haha.
Wow. That ended up being really long! Lol I hope it helps someone
tl;dr? If you don't know the number, don't take the call. If it's important, they'll leave a message.
Answering these is like hiding from the school bully and then giggling the second he walks past your hiding spot.

I received a call from someone who presumed I had diabetes and was apparently trying to sell medical devices paid for by one's insurance company or possibly by Medicare. When I delayed the call by saying someone was at the door, the caller finally hung up. The same day as the initial call, I received 15 subsequent calls from this number--all blocked, thanks to my phone system.
| Mr Cardinal 2011-11-22 19:10:45 Unknown |
They did not leave a message.
No doubt these callers are scammers waiting for someone to answer. Perhaps they are paid to check numbers. Don't ever answer an number you don't recognize.

No one replies when I say "hello". Then the phone disconnects. When I call the number back a recording says "this account is no longer valid".
This number calls me every week with the exact same results.
