This number calls every day at 5 o'clock on the dot for the past few days. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer. If it was an important call, they would have left a message. This caller did not. They just called again, i didn't answer, and they rang my phone off the hook after that. Very shady. I just figured out how to block this number on my iPhone.

This number called me but i didnt answer. I called back and the recording said my information was used for a public poll. Im not sure how they got my number since im not from LA.

Has anyone tried the following:

1.) enter you phone numbers on the national "do not call" list (after short processing time, solicitation callers have a duty to check the NDCA list and remove phone numbers listed from their call lists. If they call once they SHOULD have notice (when they are required to compare #s), that call can be officially reported and the caller sanctioned.
2) This same info (or mailing a certified copy of a demand letter registered mail, return receipt requested - green card at USPO),  can form a basis for a temporary & perm injunction ( restraining order or might be cease & desist), in a private administrative complaint (or regular court if you can prove fault (negligence or willful disregard) plus damages (how you were significantly negatively affected (compensatory damages for harrassment), damages can include "specials" like bills incurred on cell minute $, paid look-up services etc). And depending on your state law - punitive damages may be available (not related to compensation for your suffering but aimed only at "punishing" the defendant's behavior - set at a monetary amount that would be sufficient to get the co's attention so $ amount depends on value or p & L of co.), consequential damages (lost business profits due to effects of harrassment, loss of income for service professional who is forced to waste time (their "product") in billable hours (like consultants, hourly 1099 workers, attorneys etc), and you can win a case on "fault" (the co is "guilty" in civil court but if no real monetary damages to show some states allow "nominal damages" allowing you to win but awarding a standard $1 in damages); and finally, some states have extensive additional private "tort" causes of action such as "invasion of privacy", "theft of personal information" - (ID theft, sale of your info w/o permission) and there are federal statutory cause of action & damages for prohibited activity and local & federal statutes & rules may provide for the payment of any attorney fees or costs incurred in prosecuting the personal lawsuit.

2.) Report them to the FCC, the state attorney general's office consumer complaint division, write a complaint to the BBB (better business bureau), etc - public / quasi-public agency acting on your behalf.

3) check to see if they have registered with your state's Secretary of State to legally "do business" as a "foreign corp".  If not the SOS will stop their activity in your state.

4.) call your phone service provider and have the numbers blocked and report them to your service provider as fraudulent and or harassing caller.

The number 225-257-5540 no longer in service,  can't get through called. Me all day

I just received 2 calls from this number tonight and when i tried to call it back, It told me to state my name and Google will try to contact J&E Enterprises.... This is so crazy!

Just received two back to back calls with a 1 second static message that my voicemail recorded.

Received a call Sunday 4/14 at 3:29 PM.  They obvviously farm Craigslist for numbers because I have an add on there too.  Was a robo survey about a new school district in Baton Rouge.  I hung up; if you push any button that will just confirm for them it's a real number.

NOTE: An election is coming up this Saturday, April 6, in Louisiana. If you live in this state, you are going to be zapped by junk phone calls. That's the way it goes.

NOTE: Replying to my own earlier message: 225-341-7574. This time they hit my brand new cell phone! Worse, they left a voice message, a musical message, sung by an unintelligible female voice! -- Other number that has hit me: 225-366-0450.

Hello, everyone. My mom and I are having the exact issues with this particular number calling us over and over again.  They never leave messages and they keep calling back to back.  We have tried to call it back and never get to speak to a live person (some type of recording about a poll).  Or the call does not go through at all saying network busy.  Does anyone know how to block/stop these type of calls??

I've never even been on Craigslist and they started calling me- twice in a row.

I posted something on craigslist last night with my number.  Just got two calls from this number with no voice-mails left.  Sounds like you may be on to something.

I'll bet everyone who posted on here has a common denominator of having given their phone number out on Craigslist at some point in time. Whoever this is put up a fake post on Craigslist and when I responded, I got an automated email that was made to look like it was specific to me with a link to a questionnaire supposedly intended to make sure I wasn't a spammer. I filled out the deal, stupidly, and NOTHING HAPPENED. When I replied to the original post again to let them know there was a problem, I received another email exactly like the first one. Someone is fishing for our information and calling, it seems, to fish for more. I think it's a complex, very calculated effort at identity theft.

This number called me home phone today. I google unfamiliar numbers....Found everyone's comments.

This number texted me about a thing I had on craigslist. They wanted to give me double the asking price and wanted to use paypal. Also, wanted me to ship it somewhere. Obvious scammer. DO NOT pick up or respond. They fish for info then try to steal your stuff. IGNORE

They tend to call a few times over a couple of weeks, the stop for a while, then start again. They never leave a message, and I've never answered. Finally just added them to my contacts as "Telemarketer- do not answer."

I've received over 10 calls from this number in the last few days at all times. They don't leave a message, just hang up.

What i would like to know is how this group got my phone number. I have a  SC area code and only recently moved to the BR area, and I don't indiscriminately share my phone number- but obviously they have gotten my number since I moved down here, and the only places I can think that I have shared it have been Dr's offices, school, other legit places like that..

Whoever it is keeps calling my Sweetheart's cell phone number. She doesn't answer unless she knows who it is. I tried calling the number, but no answer.

This number has been callin my cell lately, I do not recognize it and I screen all my calls, it left no voicemail.  
But i have another phone i never use for anything, and I called 225-257-5540 with that phone.  It went to an automated message that said something like, "Thank you, your information has been used for a public opinion survey.". Then the line went dead.  Weird and random.  Dont bothering answering if you see the # calling you.

This # called me several times.  I never answer, but it is irritating and I want them to STOP.

These people have called me repeatedly for months at all hours, never identify themselves.  When I hang up on them, they keep calling back just to harass me.

Called and tried to ask me some personal questions.  Told them they had no business asking and they hung up.  Claimed to be a research company.

Called a few times now. No one says anything.  Maybe because I'm female? and they are looking for males to survey?

I got several calls from this number over the past 2 days, it says that it's a research company. The recording said to press 1 if I was a male and 2 if I was a female. I pressed 2 and then it said "thank you for your participation" and hung up
