Same as every one else. This number is definitely a scam.

Got the same type text message on a craigslist ad I have. Wanted to send check would wait for it to clear the bank, then would send a shipping company to pickup the item.  After asking for their location they return a text with plain dealing LA.  Scam !!

I received a text inquiry from this number for a $1400 item on CL also. The initial inquiry was pretty basic and not alarming. The person wanted to pay by check and "will wait for the check to clear before pickup" because they "know that there are a lot of scams out there". I stated that I would only accept cash. I was then reminded by this person that "there are a lot of scams out there" and then told that they were "a busy person" and would prefer to pay by check and let it clear before pickup.

I have just challenged them that "if you're coming all this way to pick it up, why don't you just bring cash with you?"

To be that hard-pressed on paying by check, I would have to assume that there is a scam here.

Text back and say no, you pay the shipping company and have them bring cash when they come to pick it up.  No cash, no pickup.

Same situation, texting regarding an item on Craigslist suggesting I receive a check for the item ($700 cost) for $2200 and "send the difference to the shipping company". Definite scam

They have also contacted me about a Craigslist ad. The grammar is poor. I believe it is the same party who emailed me. Did you receive an email, too?
