some one from phone number 225-360-3576 and threatende we with legal action if I dont call him back
| Ang 2013-01-15 01:02:00 Unknown |
He has called me three days in a row...he wants to speak to my son who does live here, but wants his phone number as it is urgent...he says he works with a law firm called "Something I could not make out" and Keith in Louisiana. He would not tell me anything other than it was a criminal matter and he would be arrested Friday by "local authorities". I asked him for his middle name, address, etc...of course he did not have it. I asked him what state the criminal charges were filed in, and I told him of the scam of people calling and pretending to be someone they are not to get credit card numbers... he said this was not the case. I also told him that we do not get calls in the evening for "criminal matters" and that arresting officers do not tell you they are coming to arrest you. It is annoying to listen to these idiots. Next time he calls, I will tell him the FTC has the number, knows the ring is in India and will soon close in on them. Terrible.

They called me too, threating there was a lawsuit against me, and that I would be arrested. I called my dad who works for the federal government and he told me it sounded like a scam. So he called them and ll they could say was I had to send 200 dollars to settle out if court. Whatever you do, do not put anything online. They got all my personal info. I can't believe they can not get caught!! They couldn't even give my dad the address and hung up when he said send me something in writing. This is a big scam be careful with your personal stuff!!

Has called my home twice with threatening messages. I called the number back and told them to stop calling that I knew what was going on. He still insisted there was a lawsuit against me, which being a legal assistant, I know a lawsuit is not presented to a person over the phone !!!

Report them and block their numbers with a call blocker. You don't have to put up with their crap.

I also received threatening calls from this number I got so sick I almost had to go the hospital there is no reason that these people should be allowed to harrass us in this matter I called them back they told me I would have to before the judge and also for me to wait for their call for info on where to send the money
| LAG 2013-01-11 17:38:55 Unknown |

I just replayed a message from this bunch of foreigners. The message was intended for someone else who does not live here. He said to "do not disregard this message" and that either the person or their lawyer needed to call him. He was a foreigner and very hesitant in his speech. If he does not get a return call, then all he can say is "good luck". Well, he is s*** out of luck.

SCAM. This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India!! There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will not be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities. Also, contact your Attorney General's office and file a complaint. Make them aware that this is happening in your state.

Was that lame crack meant to discredit the FTC, attorneys general, and the millions who've suffered these illegal calls? There are no "people on Google", only aggregated data. There *are* people in the Googleplex, but employees don't counf.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:
