A-line,  regarding an account #4457-85XX issued May 14th from the phone number 228-831-5223, we have never heard of them nor do we bank with them, we did not call the number nor did we text a response, sure sounds like a scam to us, hope this helps others to be aware.

Go to Verizon store & use their phone to call that no.---i received that tx. Also...didn't reply...

Wife and I both got this number in a text regarding a "WellsAccount". Of course, we don't have "Wells" or "Wells Fargo" anything, so assumed it was a scam.

This call is a scam to get your information.  they called on my cell and I don't even give that number out to business.

Same as others above. Multiple messages from these guys, all different times, most recent was 5/15/13 @ 1:48 AM. I have reported to SPAM number of my carrier (7726) as well as filed a complaint with DNC. We'll see if this stops it. Totally unsolicited, needs to STOP.

I got the same text message!  I also got an email saying that my debit card had been used at a grocery store that got hacked and they are sending me a new card.  I wasn't sure if this was a valid text or not!  Now I am worried because when I called the number and put in my last 4 digits of my SSN, it asked for my account #, but I just hung up.  I have no idea what I just did!

I did some checking and found that these are scammers hijacking legitimate phone numbers and sending them through V-text to Verizon customers. I was told to forward them to 7726. That is Verizon's fraud division. The number in this thread is an extension at a Fox tv station in Gulfport, Mississippi. I spoke with their operations manager yesterday. He is checking into it from his end.

Got a text message from this number identified as Devon Bank.  Unsolicited.  Did not return call.

Got a 2 text messages so far from 2 different numbers to call Devon Bank. Don't even know this bank.

I have gotten two text message within the last couple of days!  they both said "Account Issue"  I have gotten texts from Verizon my cell carrier and they identify themselves as Verizon Wireless and the number they provide is a valid Verizon number.  This appears to be a Scam!  Also, I am registered with the Do Not Call Registry so I shouldn't be getting these type calls or text.

BBB can't do anything. BBB is a scam in its self. They force businesses to pay them a fee or they wont get the A+ rating. LMAO that they messed with the wrong person though that was funny.

They wanted you to fill out an application and the scammer would have your SS#, other contact info, etc. to pull a full identity theft scam on you.These requests are targeted to Verizon customers.  I have a pay by the month ($30.00)which Verizon serves as the carrier but I cannot and do not pay through Verizon nor can I use the "report scam" #s of Verizon.

Left text message with code to call about acct issue

just got a text, with no identifying information, told to call the number back, and a computerized voice asked for my 16 digit number, but not for what card, bank, etc. I have been searching apartments on craigslist, and ran into some phishing scams, i had supplied my cell phone number as part of my work signature on emails, anyone else getting this use craigslist recently?
