my 71 yr old  mom got a call from this # saying her information may be at risk .... she kept telling him she couldnt understand him ...so i picked up the line an listened he was telling her "her personal information may have been hacked and he needed to verify her info an update it"
I went off on him i told him "he was talking to a 71 yr old lady who did not even own a computer or smart phone an I be damned if he was gonna  take advantage of her !!!! I told him if he calls her ever again i would track his a** down an he wouldnt make another call ever !!!"  

Just got a call from them.  Said his name was Mike Williams and that I needed to check my computer.  Being in the mood I am in I played along.  He had a very heavy accent, Indian I believe.  The conversation ended with me telling him that he was wrong and that I actually know that this was a scam and he proceeded to ask me if I want to suck, well you know.   Looking to see where I can report this.

Caller with a foreign accent claimed that my computer had been infected with viruses and malware and they would help me remove it from my computer. Claimed that I did not have to be connected to the internet and to follow his instructions.
he told me to find the ctrl button in the lower left corner of the keyboard then look to the right for the windows button. He told me to push it and something else at the same time. My mind was thinking scam ,scam the whole time. Thats when I hung up and initiated a search on the subject that led me here.

Just got the call from the heavily accented Indian man. Played along for a while then tired of it. He is trying to get info out of my computer. Please I hope somebody nails this @#$&*$%/ soon.

Another one who got  a call from 229 441 5589-an Indian voice indicated my computer had a problem- he could fix it-since the PC is new -has had no problems to date-simply hung up- the answer appears to be if you don't know the caller or recognise the number -hang up

Got a call from this number.  Woman with Indian accent said I had a problem with my computer.  I told her to lose my number than while she was speaking I used an air horn like they use on boats into the phone.  I don't think she will call me anymore.  I also blocked the number.

They just called my house with a Indian accent telling me about Microsoft problems and i was like what computer and they said the one at your home and i said whats my name he said a random name and i said whats my adress he said a random address these are scammers i believe if you follow through with the process they will take information from your computer i told him he was a scam before i hung up and laughed

I did not answer. One more to add to blocker. Do not call is one more government waste of taxpayer money.

Called me on Thursday, Nov 7 to "help" me solve my slow computer problems.  Played him for about 10 minutes as he had me log into my computer, then he wanted me to hold down the flag key and hit the "R" key so he could log into my computer.  I finally told him I was driving my car to do a computer repair job and not at my computer, he hung up!  At least he couldn't scam anyone else while I played him along.  

They just called & didn't leave a message.  Thanks again DoNotCall.gov.  Keep enjoying those tax dollars while I keep enjoying getting all these spam calls...

First received spam txt email on my computer from an Atlanta area code. Within 30 mins received a call from the number listed from a man with a strong accent (perhaps India ?). Best I could understand he was saying he was from Microsoft calling about my computer. I told him I was on the Do Not Call List and I was reporting him and also his txt number  (404-310-8591m) and hung up. Reporting his txt number to my carrier as well.

Got a call from "Berlin, GA"  I answered it and spoke to "Rachel"  Rachel told me I was getting all sorts of bad stuff on my computer every time I went on line.  I asked her what she was selling and she said, "Nothing".  So I played along for a while.  Then I got tired of it and told her I had to go and hung up.  She called back and I let it go to voice mail.  Of course she left no message.  I called the number back and it was "out of service."  Education, real education, is the only answer for living in the modern world..  

I GET A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AT LEAST 3 TO 4 TIMES A WEEK . THEY NEVER ANSWER AND THEN HANG UP. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT

I just got a call from this number from a woman with an accent telling me every time I used Yahoo, etc., I had a problem and she wanted to help me fix it. I told her I wasn't interested and hung up. I knew it had to be some sort of a scam.

The guy said his name was "Andrew Johnson" and that he was concerned about my computer.  He needed to access the security.  Heavy accent barely intelligible.

Call received at 12:06 CST on 11/8/13.   Since I did not recognize the area code or number, the call
was not answered.  The caller left a message in a language other than english, so another red flag
was raised.   Came to this web site and confirmed my suspicions.  The number will be blocked on
my phone system.

PS...when you call that number, you get a recorded message stating the number is not a working number. I would like to know how...in this country...someone can have a functioning phone number and are able to attach a non working number message to it?

Got the same call from this phone number...229-441-5589. Man with heavy Indian accent blurts into the phone that my PC computers are in danger, and he needs to help me solve the problem. I engaged him for about 3 minutes about the problem and  what type of solution he had. All he would say was his...I assume, fake name...and that my PC's were in danger.

Long story to short, I told him he was full of S*** and to never call this number again.

Poor little old folks that fall for crap like this...no telling what he and his ilk will do to there computers.

Picked up on this caller after one ring, said "HELLO" - no response, I said "HELLO" three or four more times with pause in-between, disconnected. Blocked.

because I was asked if I had a computer and I said no.. He ask if I wanted one I said no..He then said if I wanted two computers I said no.. I asked for his boss.. he when said he loved me that I didn't need to get him into trouble..and then the other happened as I said...

This number called my house yesterday and today.   The don't leave a message, but hang on the line just long enough for the machine to record them breathing a couple of breaths.   I'm so grateful to this site and contributors for shining a light of truth on this.  I've updated my caller ID so that this number displays with the name "Computer Scam" in case I forget.

Same call today (Nov. 7,2013.  I talked to him for a while and he wanted to remotely control my computer to fix my 'problem.  I told him I didn't trust him and hung up.  Then he called back about 5 more times and I didn't answer.  He said his name was "Dean Jones"....with a think Indian accent?  Yah, sure.

wonder how come he loved you but everyone else is getting computer scammed?

Just got a call from 1-229-441-5589, ID came up "Georgia Call." I said, "Hello." No answer. So I repeated, "Helloooooooooooo!" There was a pause. He said, "F__k off." I said, "F__k off yourself." He hung up.
