I got this call in the evening and no one responded when I picked up.

I recieve this call all the time... i never answer it because i know it is a scam.  I did answer one tie and told them to stop harrassing me or  I would turn hem into the attorney general or the police... he told me that there is no police that can help me .... so I hung up the phone. I tried calling the number back and they are usng a phone card to call you... There is no 237 area code in the united states. Has a forien voice and has just continued to harrass me daily 3 and 4 calls

I received a call from these idiots and did not answer.   However from what I have read it is a group from somewhere near Nigeria.... sounds like barack obamas family scamming the USA.... he's already scammed our country with this health care reform

I get calls from them saying they're from Windows. I simply tell the person that they're a liar and a thief trying to get personal information and then hang up before they can say anything. It usually stops the calls for a couple of weeks:)

The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

Guy called claiming to be from Microsoft Windows IT saying they received an error message from my computer.  They wanted me to connect my computer with them so they could fix it.  When I declined, they became nasty and disrespectful, told me they would disconnect my computer form the internet and I would loose all my files.  I hung up.

Called me....said Windows Expert.  Told me I could not be removed from the list because I am his wife/girlfriend.  I said WHAT??? He said I was his wife/girlfriend to which I replied.....in your dreams buddy boy

THIS IS A SCAM. Claimed to be from windows not Microsoft and that my computer was sending them warnings. They want to take control of your computer remotely from their server to "fix" your problems. Obviously they want to install some or extract your information etc.. Hang up. Hang up. Hang up. Microsoft and Windows tech support do not make unsolicited calls to users of their systems. Good grief just try to get them to call you back when you want them. Can you imagine the size of the work force required if they actually personally called every person with their systems to correct warnings, errors and viruses?

They claim they are a Windows Office provider.

I was watching a rerun of a show sitting on my couch with my laptop.  Recieved a call from an elderly gentlemen with a thick accent from the Indian subcontinent.  He informed me that I shockingly had several viruses on my computer that was comprising my security, and it could lead to all kinds of problems.  However, Windows is willing to help!  He walked me through what I needed to do.

Press the Windows key and R
Type in EVENTVWR
Pick on Custom Views
Double Click on Administrative Events

Then he asked asked me how many Administrative Events there were listed on my computer.

I told him that a pop up box came up saying "A joint task force of the FBI, the Indian National Police and the Pakistani Federal Investigative Agency are tracing your phone line and computer usage because they suspect a crime is in progress"  

I said "That was weird...Anyway, I have 150 Administrative Events.  How are going to fix this?"  Then he began yelling and cursing at me.  When he stopped, I just kept asking how to get these viruses off of my computer... and then he hung up.

I really need to know how to get rid of these viruses....

These guys call me all the time, claiming to be from a "pharmacy." They get belligerent when I ask for more details, so now I just hang up. I was successfully blocking them for a while, but they keep changing their number.

These guys called me today posing as a Microsoft Technical Support and suggesting I have malware on my computer that they need to help me with.  I have two Windows computers and they couldn't tell me which one.  They provided a 7 digit alpha numeric code they said identified my computer but couldn't tell me where to find it on my computer.  They offered to create a remote link to my computer to show me.  Really! I asked them to provide further confirming information that they are who they say they are and they put me on hold.  I hung up.

Have gotten several calls from this number but no message is never left. We don't answer numbers we don't recognize.Please dont't call our number anymore.

yep, just received the same call, my husband told her that we did not have any problems with computer & hung up......

Yup, got a call from these guys today. A lady in a very thick accent. I happen to like telemarketers so I kept her on the line for a bit. She was calling from what sounded like quite a large call centre - very noisy. They need noise-cancellation headsets there.
Things to note: She could not tell me:
Which computer in my house she was calling me about: "Your Windows computer: Well, which one? I have 5" (I don't. I have 3, but she doesn't need to know that).  She offered to give me a number that I could locate on my computer.  -- every computer has the same number and it's a fave of scammers everywhere.
My name (She's calling me on my landline which is unlisted and only 3 people have that number: My boss, my parents and my best friend for emergencies. Therefore, she should know my name)
My email address. She brought this one up actually, when she couldn't provide my name. She said, well, the errors to your computer are coming up registered to your email, not a specific name, that's how we know actually. Oh really? What's my email then? She suddenly couldn't locate it.
By this time, 10 minutes had passed and I had her backed in to a wall and she had backtracked to to the top of her script "Your computer is reporting a lot of errors, we can help you with this", like a broken record, and she had brought in a coach. I could hear a male voice whispering to her (see above note on noise cancellation headsets), in English that I knew too much about computers and to try for a stupider one.
The call was disconnected without a good-bye or anything.
...and I was having fun too. :(

I recieved a call from this # and I don't know where this area code is!

Called today, after a moment of silence call came through - said they were from the Windows Technical department.  This is a scam, just hang up.

Received call from this phone number.  Could have been a machine dialling, as no reply to my greeting or request for person to indentify themselves.

It's a scammer a/c?237 is a Camroon based a/c co-opted for scam use...
