who do I contact on this?   I fell for it, and want to report it without aiding these people   Its not a non profit organization, and I actually fell for this...what was I thinking???  

Just got one of these calls today and did some checking - legal charities under our current law but to me just a scam.......if I am going to donate I donate directly to Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches or other confirmed benefits.....check out this information:http://www.jaxrabbit.com/telemarketers.htm

they call I answer and they are not there no message stop calling me

Think about this - the 'business' calling you need to pay the staff, which they do .... and likely all taxes and other business fees. Whatever is left over goes to overhead which includes a 'fair' amount to he business owner (they are a non-profit of course), compensation, travel and entertainment ... leaving maybe 2% for the beneficiary, the state troopers, the police department or whomever their 'beneficiary' may be. The business owner is the one that live well off your generosity. Hold on to your money, don't give them a Penny! Instead, when these 'spoofed' calls - just hang up the phone or simply do not answer if you do not know who the party is!

I think I have over 30+ phone numbers blocked for the Fraternal Order of the Police &/or whatever name they use.
Another one to block.  I have family who are in law enforcement and fire rescue in Florida.  They have all said not to give to this organization.
We have also had incidents with rude, unprofessional & down right nastiness coming from the people this organization pays to handle their telemarketing.  We decided years ago to never donate again after they sent tickets to our parents whom had moved a few years out of state for work.  They claimed that they spoke to our parents when I called about the tickets sent, on my parent's behalf.  They lied about speaking to our parents and when we told them that this was not true because our parents were living out of the area during that time.  They then insisted we pay to have it delivered back to them.  I told them no way if they want the tickets they could send a self addressed envelope. They tried intimidation in which I told them the city I worked for and the Sheriff's Department my brother worked for.  If they want to threaten and intimidate that we'll be more than happy to engage them.

If the organization wants people to donate then change tactics, no one has any good things to say about them.

The number belongs to fund raisers for the FL State Trooper Fund Assoc.

called at 8:42PM. Caller id: "Cape Coral FL". Hung up when answering machinne picked up. Comment on Number Guru that it's one of the State Trooper (scam) charities. Looks like we have another new scammer number folks.

Called my home number at 9pm.   Didn't recognize the number, didn't answer, no message left on machine.  Caller ID read CORAL GABLES FLORIDA.  Don't know anyone there.  And nothing on the internet about thus number either.  Makes me think its a scam.
