I usually don't tout products but in this case it may be worthwhile. My phone recently died and I had to get a new one. I bought the Panasonic KX-TG6544B DECT 6.0 PLUS Expandable Digital Cordless Phone with Answering System, Black, 4 Handsets.

I got a VERY pleasant surprise. It has a call block feature built in. Whenever I get a call from an 800 number or other such annoying call on the caller ID. I just hit "save" and then "block." Nevermore am I bothered with a call from that number. And the phone and voice clarity is pretty good too. The number of these annoyance calls has gone down over 80% in just 2 weeks of owning the phone because the repeat callers have been blocked.

Believe me, this is a time saver and well worth the price. You can waste your breath by repeatedly telling these lying call centers to stop calling you. You can waste your time filing complaints with the FCC or your attorney general for naught.. Or you can buy a product that works and end this call nonsense for good.

Called twice in 20 minutes.  We are an engineering consulting firm, and the lady (from India) claims she is from some structural engineering company and was asking about renewing our subscription to some magazine.  Yeah we don't have any subscription to anything.

They called my part time employer and mangled my boss's name, something about civil engineering magazines.  Clearly it was an overseas call, which I resent since I am unemployed, so I asked where he was calling from.  He said "Ark-Kansas"!!!  I told him that he was lying, so he hung up on me.

Just won't give up.

Called this morning and left no message. Get a real job Beckett.

Call came in and no one on the other end....... how many times have we all had this happen?

We are getting their calls here in the Dakotas. They NEVER say anything when I answer the phone. The only reason I answer is so I can open the phone line to real customers. The number is 239-280-2380 and caller ID says Beckett. So annoying.

Hi everyone--surprised to find this page when I searched Beckett's number.

For all of you out there who don't know who this company is, they are a "DVD, bookseller" type of business who tells you that you must have done business with them for them to call.  A lie, of course.

I just spoke to a woman named Mardi Perez, who says she is a supervisor, who assured me they won't call again.  Of course, they will.  She said she put my number of the do not call list and told the sales manager and tech department to make sure my number is on the list.  I told her she is the 10th person at that company this year to tell me the same thing.

I told her I was talking to my State's Attorney General and filing a complaint, and found out there were quite a few.

To all of you who are tired of this BS company calling, call your State's Attorney General's office, or go online, and file a complaint against this company.  Once they get enough reports of complaint against this company, they will file a lawsuit.  You have to file a complaint, you can't just call and complain.  They need specifics to file a lawsuit, and you have to have an official complaint filed to receive any compensation if and when they sue Beckett and recover any money in damages.

No one said anything so I think I will call my special ops buddy and have him pay them a visit kinda like the navy seals paid a visit ot bin laden. After that kind of visit no one will ever call me again!!!

Called my business phone line today, and left no message. I have never done any business with them. We are suppose to be on the national do not call list. Apparently these type of places can still be calling us???

Got a call from these people today. Call went to my voicemail, all they would say was "Hello....good morning people... in an almost yelling voice. Very unprofessional for someone looking to place their magazines in stores.

I hate these calls because I assume it's a legitimate customer; I don't have the luxury of ignoring them as I can on my home line for any unknown number.

They called us today, asking for the owner (me), and I said he wasn't available, asked to take a message, and that we don't accept phone solicitations. They said it's not a solicitation and they would call back. Then they hung up on me. I wouldn't do business with fools like this no matter what after that phone call.

I just received a call from this number on my personal cell phone.  A man responded immediately and asked for the "owner".  I asked him, "the owner of what?" and he replied the "Big Mo Shop".  I told him he had the wrong number and that was it.

I'm located in northern CA.

received calls almost twice every month

We are a business so answered phone but nobody was there or at least talked. I thought that it may have been a fax so hit the fax code & hung up. Caller ID said: Beckett 239-280-2380. Today is 3/18/2011

Advice -- always check your incoming calls and do not answer if you don't
recognize the number!

I called them back 239-280-2380 - it belongs to Beckett Media Books and Publications - an answering machine asked me to hold for the next operator so I did - I said I was returning a call to someone who had just called and hung up and asked if they have telemarketers - she said yes they are looking for businesses to promote their publications or something - I said well at least they could have said something when I answered the phone - she said they prob. heard an answering machine so hung up - I said NO they hear me answer with the name of my business and hung up. So now I know that I can BLACK list THAT number - we won't answer calls from there any more. She was, however, very nice and polite compared to other telemarketers I've encountered!
