Received a fax from 1-888-633-9926 advertising for summer vacation.  It indicated to call 1-888-350-3766 to remove my fax #.  I figure that they use both #s to lure people.  Don't call either #!

Scam fax about vacations packages, dont not call these people. They keep changing their numbers. Scam!!

This number just called my  mothers house asking for my ex-husbands (either sister or ex-wife-they had the same name), saying that my mother's name was listed as a relative of her and wanting to speak to my mom. I told them they would have to figure out if it was his sister or his ex-wife and to figure out who else they would call, not to call MY mothers number again.

"Holly" called and said I was an alternative number to a relative.  When I asked what the call is about she said they were doing business with the other number.  Her extension was 2022.

I have no business whatsoever with the original number and do not want another annoying call.

I to had this rude person call threatening me about debts that i have never heard of/  he was very scary and acted like i had committed a crime or something.  He demanded personal information from me and when i did not tell him i asked who he was and he refused to tell me.   There really should be a law against these crazy people harassing and scaring the hell out of people in their own homes.    I just don't understand how they can get away with this.,

got one call from Anne @ Nelson Watson & Associates asking for my husband by his first name only. she left message from me, but my husband did not return call.  four days later, a call comes from Kitty Parker, did not identify company name, left number 888-350-8466, ext 2218.  Said it was urgent for my husband to return the call as soon as he got message.

We did not return any calls.

Lady called.  Very abrupt asking to talk to my brother.  Said that she was from Nelson, Watts and Association.  When I asked what the call was regarding, she said "something that he (my brother) had concerns about".  When I called my brother he said that they've been calling him to collect on some weird debt from several years ago that he couldn't even remember.

The do not call registry covers a pretty narrow range of calls and seems to be misunderstood by a lot of people. If you have business with a company such as a credit card or other loan, the no call registry does not apply. This also covers third parties collecting on behalf of a company you owe money to. The target for the no call registry are companies that purchase your name and phone number from a list in order to solicit a product or service or support a non profit organization

This is why you can continue to get sales calls that are not illegal. For example, say you have a credit card with HSBC. As many credit card companies do, HSBC sells a wide array of finiancial products from bank accounts, credit cards to insurance and mortgage loans. Because you have established a business relationship with them any of their sectors may call you about their other products despite your name and number being listed on the do not call registry

This is a scum sucking bottom feeding collection agency with some dubious legal people on their team.  They harrass anyone they can find regarding debts they are trying to collect, whether or not you actually owe the debt or know the person they are trying to contact.  You don't have to be nice to these people, I would be as rude as possible, let off some steam if you have any built up.  Also, you can report them to the FTC, notifying them they are breaking the FDCPA (debt collection act).  They have been handed many violations.  You can also notify your State's attorney general, they are likely breaking state laws as well, although that really depends on what state you live in.  These people are dirt bags, make things on them as hard as possible.

We have been getting a call from a  number saying they were with NWA, North West Associates. We asked what they did and would not tell us. They asked for my husband everytime and even said they had called him more than 20 times without him picking up so they thought the number did not work. It was his exact number though. Last time they left us a number, 1-88-350-8466 Ext. 2012 Also he said his name was Michael. He did not sound professional, beware it is definetly a scam.

A Michael called said he was from some law firm looking for someone who we do not know.  Has called several times & left message.

Nick Franjudakalis called my cell and left a message, he said he's been trying to contact me , it stated it was urgent I call him, didn't say what about, but i should call him before he leaves the office at 9pm or if he's not available I should have the secretary direct me to his voice mail and he will get back to me as soon as he can. Left a call back number of 888-350-8466 x 2224. Then he call my home phone soon after ( because i didn't answer my cell ) I answered the home phone recognizing it was the same caller id number 888-381-7802, but when they asked for me I said "I" wasn't home and I';d take a message...the message was similar to the voice message he left, when asked the reason for the call or who he was he said its against federal law to discuss it with anyone other than the person he was trying to reach. I told him I'd deliver the message and hung up.

I received a call from a "Mike" who said it was "urgent" from Nelson and Watson and that if I did not call back he could not help me.  The tone was as if one of my children were hurt.  Not calling back.  I know where my children are and no one would call me like this if there really was a problem with distant family.  Would like to know how they do this when I am on the "No Call" registry.

Missed the first part of the message but said to call back ext 2224. Said his name was Nick Franjudakalis (or something like that). He said he has been trying to contact me to explain how he could "help me" (with no other explanation than that). It is apparently important that I call him back before he leaves the office at 3. Sounds like a total scam to me, especially since the number he called from 888-381-7802 is nowhere in my caller ID list for at least the past 3 months so...how has he been trying to contact me. Also the message he left sounded almost recorded.

This creeepy man called and left a message telling me he could "help" me. I called the number and it rang once and nobody answered. The company was not stated.

I had a message on my answering machine telling me to call Jessica at Nelson-Watson&Associates regarding a pre-litigation matter. They called our house phone first, caller ID was 888-381-7802. But they told me to call 888-350-8466. They also gave me a extension number of 2247 also a reference number.They also called my husband's cell phone, but did not leave a message.

Of course I wanted to find about what this was so I called. Jessica was not available, so a man named Dan got on the phone. he told me the firm that he was from and that the matter was about a Capital One Account that was due in full of $6,100! I told him that i did not have a Capital One account anymore, I had not had one in years. He called me by my old married name and asked me to verify my Social Security number, which i said i would not verify> It startled me that he had it right! he also told me where I was getting my mail. I was concerned about this call thinking that my x- husband had racked up these charges in my name. I told D an that I wanted everything in writing sent to my address with the statement of charges that I supposedly made. My husband Dennis found out through research that this is a SCAM!!!!!

Please, please let people know. It would be very easy to think that you are going to be taken to court like he threatened. I am so glad that my husband researched this BOGUS threat of restitution that I should pay this in full immediately to avoid court prosecution!!

Just got call (on answering machine) from "Mike Hansen" at ext 2006.  Asked for a call back regarding "some information he has here."  Wanted a call back on a Thurs before 2p.  I was out of town and I am unaware of any debts that I owe, so I am not sure what to do.  I guess if it is important he will call back.  Is this company legit?

I did a quick search on Google and found the company name is Nelson, Watson, and Associates.  They perform many services, Collection among them.

Here are a few lines from their website explaining how they train their "staff":

Every call starts with a demand for payment in full and is tempered by an experienced staff that looks to resolve the balance through negotiation, consumer counseling, and strict compliance to federal and state laws.

I don't know why they are calling, but I will find out.  So far it's only been one call, but from the above comments, I can expect more.

Call from Holly.  Used our family name, said she was calling from New Jersey, asked that we call back. Sounds like a collection for some one.

A person left a message on my phone looking for someone saying they were from a law firm at 888-350-8466 but the caller id indicated the call was made from 888-381-4502 which appears to be from collection agency. We owe no one any money.  My understanding is that they will call to try to reach someone you might know including neighbors.
