They call 2-3 times a night for the past week, no one is ever on the line. We have done the *57 to report to the authorities in the event the police ever need a record of it.
When you call the number it advises it's a disconnected number, the operator has informed us that the 240-365-0592 has call fowarding on it to get a real message but not at the real number.

Non-profit Organization
I have had several calls but do not answer Unknown Numbers. However, I was getting dressed and my 12 yr old answered and took a message. They had asked for my by full maiden name, I haven't used that name in 15 years. So I called it back. A very feminine recording said it was not recognized as a valid number. Within 5 minutes an Indian guy called back asking for me. Everytime he asked for me I just repeated "Who is this" until he very nervously went into a line about being with the Sheriff's Association asking for non-profit donations. I hung up. A lot dofferent than the rest of this thread, huh?

Phone call today from 240-365-0592 from Laurel MD.  I live in MD.   No one was on the line when I answered.   On a fluke  I went online to see what the number was and found this site.  Interesting!   I agree (and it seems we already should know this) with not giving any info.

Ijust started recieving calls this week from 240-365-0592, and there was no one on the line either time that I answered, so I decided to do some research! I am so glad I found this site, and I won't be picking up the phone any more when the number appears. I have written emails to all of my friends and family about the number and other numbers that were listed here. Thank you for the fraud information and what I should do incase my husband would pick up the phone and be threatened! I hope other people are smart enought to do some research on this number.

I have been getting calls from this number, for the longest time I heard nothing but silence. Then as the calls began more and more every week I finally answered and was double lined with another person. I could hear the whole conversation with this indian guy and an elderly woman. He was convincing her that she could have a grant from the US to take care of her medical bills. What was scary is he knew all of this womans info INCLUDING her insurance claim on a wreck she had just had and her medical info. HE told her a grant could help her pay her bills. I yelled it is a scam don't do it and they both heard me. The indian man started saying it isn't a scam it was legit from the government. The woman fell for it and paid their stupid processing fee for $200 dollars to recieve a 10,000 dollar grant WITH A CREDIT CARD!! This company is horrible and if they call me again I have no idea what to do except tell them that I have reported them to the FBI and the FTC. Any suggestions?

On my other post for the 9252621327 number, these are the same people, they have told me the same thing. Wanting to charge me for fraud and so on. I and my bosses have told them several times not to call me at work they still do. Very embarrasing. I spoke to an attorney and he said they are criminal debt collecters who are running from the law. I did have payday loan but what is weird is that it is not with the bank they are saying and two the loan was far less than what they are saying. I filed a complaint with the ftc. My question is and maybe someone can answer this, is there anyway the phone company can track these people down, there is gotta be a way. They are calling from a residential number as well.

I have had calls from Mike Robinson as well.  They are attempting to "sue" me for a pay day loan I never received.  They told me that the loan was "pending".  I just had a call from Dean Jones who told me I had 2 hours to pay up or he was sending through the paperwork to have me arrested.  I told him I filed CH7 two years ago and that any and all debts I had, including pay day loans, were discharged.  I suggested he go back and reread or familiarize himself with the BK laws.  He told me pay day loans were not dischargable.  What a load of bullcrap.

I am going to collect the other phone numbers they have called me from and lodge complaints per the other posters above.  All the guy had on me was my SSN.

This is also the third time I told them NOT to call me at work.

This is a scam. "US National Bank" doesn't even exist.

Just remember: no debt collector has the authority to have anyone arrested for anything. The criminals calling you are no different than the infamous Nigerian email spammers; their goal is to steal your money by gaining access to your bank account and credit card numbers.  The only difference is, the Nigerian spammers play on your sympathy and these phony debt collectors play on your fear.

I'm not sure who is actually calling you, but their method resembles that of the notorious Bass Associates/States Predisposition/Jackson Philips/United Federal Bank/United Processing Legal Department scam.  (They go by many other names, most of which are meant to sound like government or banking entities.) Here's a recent news article from the Florida Times-Union about this criminal operation and how the Florida attorney general is pursing them even as they fled for Georiga:  http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/120107/met_221875639.shtml

Quite a few grifters like the Bass operation not only route many of their calls through various U.S. area codes, they also have calls placed from offshore -- all in an attempt to disguise their identity and location. Another common ploy is to convince the victim to send money via Western Union.  These 800Notes reports are pretty typical:

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-210-858-6602
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-480-365-0155
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-918-3849
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-209-920-4600

I suggest that you ignore their threats and turn the tables on them by doing the following:

1) Give them nothing, and tell them nothing other than that you've reported them to federal and state authorities.

2) File a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission here: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

3) File a complaint with the consumer affairs division of your state's attorney general. The contact information for each state's attorney general is listed at www.naag.org  Just scroll down to the national map and click on your state.

4) Since these crooks are using a telephone phone to extort money from you, report them online to the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov/

5) Contact an attorney to defend your rights and pursue these crooks. There are plenty of consumer law professionals who work on contingency in matters like this. Here are links to websites that either provide attorney referrals or are law firms that specialize in suing outlaw debt collectors:

On the caller ID was the number 240-365-0592 and the message left was to call 925-262-1327 back It was VERY URGENT!!!They called my cousin today and threatened her with jail for 3 different charges: 1. Violation of International banking laws 2. Collateral check fraud and 3. Check by deception. And that a warrant was being issued for her at 6:00 pm tonight and that she had better pay up or go to jail. She called me to help her out. I asked him to hold off until I could verify the "loan" because he said it was EFT'd into her bank account. There was no deposit on the date he said at all. NO LOAN!The names used in this call were Mike Robinson and Jason. They have a very thick mid-eastern accent and were very illegal in the methods to threaten. We have notified the local law enforcement and the FBI and will notify the FTC tomorrow. Now here is the SCARY PART... He gave her ALL of her information... bank acct#, SS#,everything... SO we HAVE to buy a credit protection plan, notify the bank to HOLD all EFTs etc, etc, etc.
Some things you should know...
They did NOT have the routing #
DO NOT give them any INFORMATION AT ALL!!!!!!!

Ito have been getting calls from this number. But every time they call they ask for a William. Plus they start laughingwhen I tell them that there is no one by that name here because it is my company cell phone. TO top it off they call like three or four times a week. plus when I call the number back it tells me what state the call is coming from so I can tell you it is coming from Maryland.

I received the same call from the 240-365-0592 and this person left me a voicemail saying that he worked for an attorney's firm and represented US National Bank and that I better call him back at 925-262-1327 by 5 pm. I called the # back and some girl answered like she was at a bar or somehere loud. I explained I received a call from some guy I didn't understand. She then handed the phone to a gentleman and then I could hear her telling him who I was. The background then changed to an office setting. He looked for my "file" and began to threaten me about me bein prosecuted for an online loan of some sort and that I had till 4 to pay over 1200.00. He had my social and an old yahoo email account. He then gave a different name than the name he left on the voicemail and told me that I better call him back by 5 and have my checking info to pay a settlement of over 800.00. This was really disturbing! He told me to call a friend to bail me out of jail because they were coming for me.

I received a call from some indian at this number this afternoon threatening me with charges against me. When I asked who their client was, after asking 3 times, they told me US National Bank, which I looked up online only find one thing on it from Nebraska and it is a historican monument. I asked for an address they gave me one for an apartment complex in CA and I asked for their business license and the guy I talked to told me I couldn't get that information. I told him if he was a legit company it would be public record and that I am entitled to the info and he hung up on me. They are a scam. Another number for them is 925-262-1327. I will be notifying the FTC and putting a complaint with them on the DNC list.

Don't feel bad as I have been getting calls on my company cell phone for six weeks now from that number.  Usually no one answers or talks on the phone.  Once however, I did get some Indian guy to say he was calling from California, that they were the type of company that helps you pay off your credit cards.  I told him that I had already pursued that option a long time ago with my bank.  I probably just wasted my time, as today I got another call with no one on the other end.   that is why I was searching for some help and came across this web site.
