Send a cease and desist letter, and deal with the orginal creditor. Much easier. And record the call!

Caller Named Harris Freeman contacted me twice and stating that he needs to talk to me about a matter that has come to his attention. But I have to call him before 3:30pm. Also he states that I need to have my attorney call him also. He called the second time. He then just states as though he is leaving his first message again but this time he doesn't ask for my attorney to contact him but then instead he gives me his personal phone number.

This guy is an absolute A**. He threatened me and my mother in-law saying that he knew she could pay the debt and he will report on our credit unless we pay him $800.00 that day! I told him to F off!

This guy called the first time and left a message on my voicemail giving absolutely no information other then a reference number, and he had such a heavy accent I could barely understand his English..

Then he called my parents house looking for me, even though I haven't lived there in over four years. He gave my mom some story about needing to speak with me urgently over matters that were personal and serious that needed to be dealt with immediately. Of course my mom freaks out thinking something has happened to me.

Then he calls again, leaving Harris Freeman as a contact name, and a completely different reference number. I can gauge from the above responses he's some sort of bill collector, but the guy is SHADY!

Even if he did get me on the phone I wouldn't give the guy any information. Any company the practices underhanded means of getting information from people like that is just wrong. I have reported it to the Bureau of Better Business for investigation, and I highly suggest you do the same.

This guy called saying he was a Doctor and needed to get a hold of my Daughter, but first he called my nieces to find my Daughter, he wouldn't give me any information just that he needed to talk with my daughter before the end of the day.... He was very short with me...  Normally a doctor will not call you direct he would have his office people do that for him...

Just be very careful with this guy...

I got a call from this number whats the best way to get that inquiry off my credit report.  Will it reflect on my parents credit report, because, they were my gurantors when i signed the lease to an apartment

Called and left a message using my name and giving a "reference" number.

Also, what advice can you give me as far as making a deal with these people or if i have to make a deal at all.  The apartment i lived in treated us like crap.

THis guy is just an a** - he wont let me email anything in response for documentation.

If they call you - Do the following -
Ask to call back on a direct line and record the call yourself.  They see this as a threat and he gets mad and yells and screams about it.

Also - if he is calling you, there is a chance they have made a hard inquiry on your credit report - so you must go through the protest process to get it removed.
