Someone named Sarah left a message claiming to be from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage asking us to call back to discuss the escrow of our mortgage loan.  Instead of calling this number, I calls the 1-800 customer service of WF to confirm if (1) I have some issues to settle regarding our mortgage loan, and (2) whether they called me.  They checked their computer and everything was okay with my loan and that they never made any attempt to contact me.

So I called this 240-586-8087 and said Sarah answered the phone, lol. WF is such a huge company and I have been dealing with them for a long time. When you call them, regardless what number they give you, there is always the voice prompt telling you press 2 para espanol, press 1 or 2 or 3, etc to talk to this and go to that deparment.  

With so many scammers around, you should always check whether the number they give is a legit contact number of the company they claim they represent.  Check your receipt, billing statements or  the company's website for legit customer service contact numbers and contact them using those verified number.
