This "organization" has called several times over the last couple of weeks, usuully during dinner and on a Saturday morning before 0930.  What gives?  I am an active donor for WW Project, and I certainly hope they didn't give out my number (which is unlisted/unpublished and on the DNC registry).  We have asked them repeatedly to remove us from their calling list, obviously without success.

Got a call from this number.  The called ID said HYATTSVILLE MD  Did not answer it because I did not know the number.  I figured that if it was important enough, they would leave a message, but didn't.

DIdn't leave an message on answering machine.

Just got my Sentry Call Blocker off eBay. We'll see how it works with these d*ckl*cks.

Got a call from "them" just now.  Googled it.  Brought me here.  Thanks for the info.  I'll block them.

call again today and I answered....no one on other end.  tried calling back immediately and it doesn't connect. waited about an hour and I finally got a person.....told him why do you keep calling me and no one on other end and hang up. "thank-you for calling back.....but didn't give him a chance to say anything more.....called him every name in the book and to stop calling me! and I hung up

Yeah, my number is on their list(s) too. I just ordered a call blocker that can store almost 10,000 numbers in the "reject" side. Hope eventually that gets the job done. I'm trying to do everything I can to avoid just grabbing the phone cord and yanking as hard as I can. It's unfortunate the phone companies don't care enough to offer us opportunities to block the 1000's of numbers that annoy their customers every day. I'm glad there are 3rd party people that care and offer products that give us hope.

Got a call from this number. I answered. A deep voiced man said hello, I said hello and then he said this call will be recorded for quality control. L said no thanks and hung up. Geez, he could have at least given his name and what he was calling about. I don't like these record your call people. You want to talk with me, fine. But no recording.

Vietnam Vets looking for donations. In another 10 years it will be Gulf War Vets and 10 years after that and after that.

Called again today.  Was some guy with American Vets Something-or-other.  Another scam charity.   Now we know.

Call from 240 667 7770 said hello multiple times, finally assbag says "hello, thanks for calling back" then went into some sales pitch, cut him off and told him no more damn calls, remove me from your call list. He says "oh, I wasn't aware our service had called you before" my a**, warned him again and hung up.

Scumbags.

Called again today.  Picked it up and listened; nobody talked to me.  Hung up.

This #came up as "unknown". They called 5 times in less than 2 minutes. Annoying, persistant sob's. I didn't  answer.

Left no message.  

Called me at 11:35 am PST. I did not answer, rang three times, then hung up.  

I never answer a call from people I don't know. If it's legit, they'll leave a voice mail.

I have gotten a couple of calls from this number too.  I usually do not take calls from numbers that I do not know but it shows on my caller ID. This time I answered and no one answered right away so I hang up. My caller ID shows the same name that you have, V512183634005298.

this # has shown up as V with a bunch of numbers but about 5mins.ago it with O as the name.

Hung up and didn't leave a message. So damn annoying.

When I get ANY call from a number I don't know, I'll Google it, very simple. A lot of times the results of that Google search will direct me here to 800notes and can see if it's a legit number or a SPAM or SCAM call. Sometimes you'll get a business or personal listing in your Google search results also. When there are no comments about a number and I'm pretty sure it's SPAM, I'll leave the first comment so other people who search it can verify that we're all correct about it. As the other people who posted to this have said, a simple Google or web search and you can find out about most numbers. Some of these Scammers or Spammers will also "Spoof" a phone number using a VOIP system and can use any name and number they want to. Sometimes they will find a legitimate business name and number and use that as a front to provide a scapegoat when people search out who is calling them. Also, if you're in the I.T. world and you consult, or if you have your resume and contact info on job boards; there are a bunch of fly by night recruiters both in the US and overseas that scan these boards and call people with scams all the time. Just be careful with your info. I'm glad we have a site like 800notes so we can call out the BS artists. Be well, E...

one way to find out who's calling is to just google the number.   It doesn't always work, but often you can find out if it's a telemarketer or a number with lots of complaints.   And googling the number doesn't cost you anything.   :-)

my caller id just says maryland call at 825PM, do't no it so don't answer it.
caller id is better than registering with the national no cal listing, that is worthless to join, and
never helps anyone.  i tried several sites to get more informaiton and all the sites i find out
there want money to tell you anything,,,,,,,,,,what a lousy racket between the two setups,
no one in the usa is helping with these phissing and annoying calls, noone........

what system do you h ave on your phone to give you this information.
when i try to get the info on them, all the systems i try to log into on these numbers
want me to pay them to give me any information.

Same here. Bogus call with spoofed number or IP address, yesterday at 8:42 pm.  The phone companies really need to start filtering traffic (or coming up with better security) that they can't confirm.

These Bozo's added a "1" to their number to make it an 'Out of Area Call' to get by existing blocks, comes back as
