Someone called my home and cell phone claiming to be a special invesigator. They are really scam artists though, so beware!

I got the same call kind on my cell from a different number with the same area code. My "Special Investigator" was Jennifer Basil. The call back number was (240) 482-8248. I almost believed it because my ex tends to use my identity for his personal gain. I was happy to find this site informing me that it was a scam. Thank you for all your comments.

Said that they gives summons on all types of cases. They had the wrong number for me. But be aware they have partial ssn's. So even if they name off some of the numbers in your ssn tell them it is not you.

These people called and left a voice mail on my home phone and cell phone regarding my ex husband who I haven't spoken to in about 15 years. They said that they were special investigators and gave a case number. These people are definitely full of it! The voicemail on my cell phone had the wrong name. Why would someone call regarding an ex who you haven't seen or spoken to in years? They wouldn't notify you. They would notify that person and it would be by certified mail if it was valid.

Glad you canceled the account -- that was the right thing to do. They will not be charging you with anything because they are NOT legitimate. What they are doing is ILLEGAL. Please do not worry yourself.

I made the mistake of giving these people my bank account info.  I cancelled the account and they now are saying there will be felony charges for pasing bad checks through state lines.  Can they do this????

Got the same type of call.  Special investigation, some judgement against me, case number, some guy with the last name of Rosenthal, out of Maryland, but case from my county in different state.  These are soooo annoying.

Wow, Scam Artist, someone touched a nerve. Afraid you're going to have to actually get a LEGITIMATE job? Best of luck to you. OR -- guess it's time to find a new area code to start running your scam under...it must be such a pain to burn through phone numbers like you people do.

I recieved the exact same call from (240)235-5616 and they wanted me to send a payment through western union (person to person, not quick collect)because i wouldn't give my checking account #. They also refused to give me the account # and the company there collecting for and threatened me that there going to take me to court if i dont pay within 24 hrs. Who can we report this to?

these people are CROOKS! very convincing. i received calls from them last week and made the mistake of giving them my act information. after i checked my credit report, i saw i did not owe anyone 3K....and i cancelled my bank act to get another.  there transaction did not go through and now they called me again today at my job harassing me.  Jonathan obrien and investigator cattalano are both full of bu***hit! do not give these people your info!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got this call, they got the name wrong on who they were serving, i am an investigator myself so i know a little of the law, you cannot be served by telephone.

I received a call from someone by the name of Victoria Branson posing as a special investigator phone# 240-696-8261 and told me that there is a civil complaint filed against my name in my county and she gave me a summons# that is totally weird#. And that when I return the call to have my Atty. present in the court since I was named as the respondent. First of all, if this whole thing is legitimate, I should have gotten a summons in the mail. You do not just act on something just because someone says so. Besides she did not identify her company and right there is a red flag. It is good thing that I screen all my calls before I decide to answer.And I am not about to fall for her scam and be threatened by what she is saying. I am in the same business of collections and her actions only tells me she is a scammer and will intimidate someone if you fall for it. I am very critical on situation like this when someone tries to scam you for your hard earned  money. So, at this point I already filed a complaint against who she is so her and the others can be tracked down and stop their unlawful business practices.

A message was left on my home machine. The caller identified himself as "Special Investigator Jason Williams." He said "A civil complaint has been filed against you" and provided me with an affidavit number. I called back and got an answering machine, then I Googled the number. Whatever this scam is, I'm not falling for it.

The specail officer's name was Thomas NicFallon or may be MicFallon.  It is ashame that he has the voice of an African American, but I may be worng!

I just got a call from some gentelman about an investigation concerining a Martina Delion.  No other information was given.  I will write back with the name of the getlemeen, ASAP

How do you know that this is a scam I got the same call?

this person calls my house every day, funny thin is - i have no debt, no mortgage only in the usa 2 months, she wanted a social security #, my bank account , i gave her a few choice words, she said that the local authorities would be on thereway in 24 hours, , i told her to come visit herself, and that she is a wuss, she said some foul language then hung up. i am sure she will call call tomorrow

they have called my wife. we didnt take them serious. now she has a judgement and her wages are being garnished. these people are @ss h&*^&*^ but they did what they said they were going to do.

they call my home daily leaving threatening messages for someone who doesnt live here. "You  or your attorney have 24 hrs to contact me  blah blah blah" I'm sure she would be terrified if she was actually getting the messages but I am instead.

240-696-8261 received a phone call stating that they needed a statement from me before it went to court.  they left a message on my cell phone - how did they get that - it wasn't even me they were calling for some guy ????

They called and told me I was being served a summons to appear in court. I called back to verify what they were suing for. They asked me my social security number and I told them I cannot answer that. Next, he got mad and told me I would recieve a summons at home and/or work if I was not there. And then he said "YOU ARE SERVED", and hung up.
