This call is coming from India. Some how they are high jacking the ph #240-699-8910. This is a scam do not give them any of your personal information, hang up and call your phone provider to block the number if needed. They are calling cell phones so that should give you a clear sign they are not legit telemarketers.
When you call the number you will get a recording from someone with a heavy foreign accent.

Calling offering cruises--exactly as described above. These guys aren't even bothering to be tricky about their scams... so lazy an unoriginal. Everyone knows it's shite...

I just googled this number and found this thread while they were calling me. Everything above that has been said is accurate.

Caller advised that I had won a cruise on my choice of lines (such as Carnival and Princess). He continued that it was from a Chicago area travel agency. Caller would not send hard-copy information via mail or e-mail, but said that I could take the cruise anytime in the next 18 months, all travel paid, but with taxes at my expense. Taxes were $92 per person and had to be paid via credit card on the phone during this call. No hard copy, curious call origination, no memory of entering a contest, and hard-sell insistence that I act now: NO DICE!

Hi...If you call it back, you can press "1" to have your number removed.

Called about me winning a free cruise to any choice line of cruises I could pick for 4 nights saying I had to pay $93 per person. Then when I asked what company it was he worked for he said ATA in Chicago. The man sounded too friendly and took an awfully amount of effort to get information such as my name, where I live, and wanted credit card or debit info. I told him this might be a scam and he insisted I could call the credit card companies to get my money back. He said he was from Illinois working and when I looked at the area code: Silver Springs,FL. Of course I didn't give him my information but how in the world did he get it. Someone on the Carnival Cruise line or somewhere is giving our phone numbers out. I wish I had authority to do an investigation. I would go down to Silver Springs, FL. Track the office or building in which these people call and BURN IT TO the Ground. I am almost positive a million more people would go right with me as well. Since the government doesn't take action against this nor credit card companies, the victims themselves may need to take action and reclaim money lost or insanity from calls pouring in. I vow to one day find these perpetrators and hopefully next time I can record or find the exact location of this scamming facility.

Recieved a call from this number 8:00 pm 2/24/10. Person said that I won a cruise and directed me to their website, www.ustravelgroup.info (either this is a cover for their scam, or they're hiding behind a legitimate website). Said they were calling from Illinios, the called ID name came up as Frederick. Wanted to charge me $93/person to take the "free" cruise of my choice, to cover "taxes". Wanted to take my name, home address, E-mail address, and my credit card number BEFORE they passed me to Quality Assurance to verify all the information. I asked them to hold and he hung up on me. What else can I do to help stop this scam from continuing?

Just hang up and call the number back and it will ask if you want to remove your number. Idiots trying to force a but when America is struggling.

What's it take to hire a hitman around here? I'm serious. If someone can deliver these peoples' entrails to their families in a box, I will pay money.
Cash only. Dead drop. Please don't try to contact me directly.

This number called me several times. When I tried to return it I recieved a busy signal. It kept dialing my number until I finally answered. I was told I had won a free cruise and all I had to do was give them my credit card number to pay for the taxes. I declined. I think they are using an auto-dialer. Almost everyone in my office who has an ATT phone has been recieving these callz

Just got a call from this number. Didn't recognize it, so i looked it up. Based on what I've read here, I'm glad I didn't pick up.
I'm sick of getting calls from this. The Government is obviously not going to do anything about it until another senator gets another annoying call during another meeting. Would somebody please find these call centers and slaughter everyone inside?
There is no problem which can not be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

Ditto here - didn't answer - glad this site available for reporting these morons.

No name! just this number!
Badger 2010-02-12 04:21:43 Unknown
I got a robocall saying that I had won a free cruise. These calls are illegal and should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission at (877)382-4357. The call takes only a few moments and the operators are courteous. When I mentioned all the car warranty calls I received last year, they said they had been able to stop them due to the number of complaints filed. So please, complain away!
Suckah 2010-02-11 20:28:20 Unknown
Same Carnival cruise scam, would not provide hard copy unless I gave them a credit card number. American-sounding guy but very, very seedy and hard sell. Doesn't the FTC check these things out?
Jackie Butler 2010-02-11 00:06:25 Unknown
you can google it just write "area code ( then the code)" and it will tell you the 240 is from Maryland oddly enough because someone here posted the caller claimed to be from Chicago!!
Jackie Butler 2010-02-11 00:04:37 Unknown
I am so glad I found this page! I got a call from 204-699-8910 thought it was a bill collector too so I let the voice mail take it and when I played the message-no one was there. Now I put it in my phone as telemarketer.
noanie 2010-02-10 22:34:15 Unknown

halfchaldo 2010-02-10 21:32:56 Unknown
I got a call from this # thought it might be from a bill collector, but for some reason thought to look it up, and came across this page. Glad I didn't answer, and didn't waste any time on it.
