The phone rang, but I didn't answer it.  Two minutes later, I rec'd a call from 866-290-7821 and I didn't answer that one either.  I looked up the 866 number and it's affiliated with Discover Card.  I'm going to assume both calls are from Discover Card.

I've gotten a call from this number once a day for the past couple of days.  I say hello and never hear an answer.

This number called tonight (Wednesday 25 NOV) at 8:55 PM Caller ID said "Hollander Law" 240 699 8985 I didn't answer just let the answering machine pick up. They didn't leave a message but while they should have been giving a message there was a static buzzing sound. Probably just their phone system realizing that an answering machine was reached and the phone operator was moving on to the next call attempt. I can just assume from the other notices here that they are some sort of sleazy collection agency.

Well, I received a call from this number today and the person on the line asked for 'Angela', I think that's what he said, though I panicked for a moment thinking he said 'Ambulance' it was a young man, when I said I don't know that person he hung up.

Same story, no message

Received first call from them today asking for me by name.  I said I wasn't here and they asked for Mr. me and I said there is no Mr.  They said they'd call again and thanked me.  I went to AmVets to see if there is a way to get off the call list and found out that "AMVETS has contracted with XENTEL., a paid professional fundraiser, to solicit funds".  You can read more at thia link: http://www.amvets.org/about_us/faqs.html#faq17.

If you go to Xentel (http://www.xentel.com/xentel/contact.htm) there is a "Don't call service" where you can send an email.  I'm going to try that.

I called back to the same number it gave me the option of removing the number by dialing 1an d i did hopefully no more calls

Arrogant - looking for similar name person.  Was advised NOT ME.  Demanded my date of birth, arrogant.  I refused. told me he would call everyday until I gave him my year and date of birth.  A----H----...

I received the same exact phone call this morning.

They call me everyday, often twice a day, and never leave a message.  I'm tempted to pick up the phone if I'm home the next time they call to just tell them, without even a hello, "STOP CALLING ME!"

240-699-8985 has called 3 times this week so far (5/26/09 - 5/27/09).  This number has been calling me and does not leave a voicemail message.  Today, I called from a different/unknown/untraceable phone number to see who/what it was and discovered then that it is AMVETS.  I'd like this to STOP!

Caller ID is Maryland ... no message left.

Let's hope this stops!

Received same message claiming that I or a member of my family had filled out a contest entry form or I was just lucky and had been selected for two complimentary tickets to something.
Usual worthless waste of my minutes.

got a call from 240-699-8950 on 2-25-09 and the voice mail said I won 2 complimentary tickets with no strings attached.

same thing - "I won a trip to las vegas completely free of charge. press 1 to claim it." i promptly hung up

Recorded mssg says "you won two tickets round-trip air fare anywhere in united states, press 1 to claim your prize" - likely scammer as I never join contests

caller id with this number says "frederick MD" answered phone heard a mans voice briefly but that was it, he went away.  what and a/h!

called at 548 pm on 05/22/08, did not leave message, have called several times prior to that

Answered phone.  Nobody responded when I said hello.
