Tired of "Michigan Calling" morning, afternoon and evening.  Sometimes the calls occur every 30 to 60 minutes. Picked up twice but no one there. This has been going on for at least 6 months, probably more,  irritated with the constant calls!  The # that keeps calling is 248-429-4201.

We CONTINUALLY get calls soliciting funds for various charities from this number or various versions (-4201, 4202, 4200, etc.).  They will call as many as five times a day anywhere from 8am to 9pm - my husband works nights so this calls are seriously annoying.  Most of the times there isn't a human on the other end, they're just using the cue to try to solicit more funds.  How greedy - I WANT TO GET OFF THEIR LIST!!!

Called at 6:22pm. They call in the evening.  Called ID says Oxford MI

got call today, when I answered ,they hung up without saying a word

Has anyone reported them to their AG,s office.  I started receiving these calls about a week ago. I  am on the federal and state do not call list. Haven't had any problems for about the last two years, now it's two or three calls every night after work.

Don't these people get it?  This is a sham number generated by some stupid and vicious people.

This number came up Breast Cancer Awareness out of Michigan. They got my machine, but left no message. I called the National Breast Cancer Foundation. They are out of Texas. Told them about this call, she said she was not 100% sure, but it sounded like a scam to her since they do not solicit at all and it was not them.

When I called it back, it rings and rings to the point it sometimes just hangs up. I am also, like so many other people, on the Do No Call List for my State and the National one also.

The only thing that I find that sort of works is DO NOT ANSWER if you have caller ID, absolutely DO NOT ask them to take your number off their list or call back and press a number.  That only makes it worse because they now know they have a good phone number and turn your answering machine off.  It worked for those stupid robo calls from Card Services. I would get 3-4 calls per day from them.  Not heard from them in over 2 months after turning my machine off and not answering the phone.  I know it is a pain, but it seems to at least lessen the calls.

Just got the call from 248-429-4200 and they asked for me, then told me that they were supporting something about babies (I couldn't really understand what the hell he was saying). Right in the middle of his sentence, he hung up. I believe this is another scam. Calling police if they call again

I think Tom has put a good ID profile together for the creep responsible for these calls in his post of 31 Mar 2013. Be nice if Anonymous or someone would fix this guy. As a veteran, I am none to happy to find out who has been calling. Bad enough to get the hang up calls twice a day from  a legit source. But to find out it is this creep... it really chaps my a**!

These Michigan calls come in multiple times per day.  I'm so tired of it.  Fortunately, I have caller ID and don't answer but how do you stop them?  I will try the *60.

Call was on my ID coming from Oxford, MI.  I answered, said "hello" once and waited for about 10 seconds with no response so I hung up.  I've read through other comments here and agree it's a charity fundraising operation that continues to call day after day.  Thanks to the person posting the *60 information.  I didn't know I had that service and will see now if 248-429-4200 calls back after putting their number on the *60 list.

Thanks so very much for  a very "eye opening" post. I'm sure it saved a few fromm scams. I had enough scepticism to look up the number before I even answered the phone.

Male caller asked for a household member by name.  I asked who was calling.  He said this is Disabled Paralyzed Veterans. As pleasantly as I could without gagging, I told him that I know charities and most non-profit orgs are exempt from the Do Not Call list unless they are specifically asked not to call any more, which I was now specifically requesting -- so take this phone number off your list and make sure I am never called again, please. He said, "Yeah, sure, we'll take you off.  Not a problem."  Now if they call again, they will be in violation of the Do Not Call law, whatever that's worth.

I continue to receive calls from this number daily, when answered they hang up. Tried to call back and received a fast busy signal.  This needs to stop!

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article from 2007 that found Insight Teleservices, Inc. kept ~86% of the $812,500 it raised on behalf of Wisconsin Paralyzed Veterans of America.  The charity got ~$113,750.  It appears to me that the principle reason for Good Charity, Inc. is to retain the services of Insight Teleservices and only the minimum amount of money is actually funneled charity to keep the whole thing legal.

Notice the names of a group that is actually contracted Insight to raise money for them and then notice the name of the same group that Brian Maiorana started.

Every time you do, your scam is popping up on a google search under their name and is damaging their group because of all your bad press. That is one heck of a price to pay for the few bucks you dole out. You are driving down their donations. See you give one of them 500 bucks, put their name on your site and they lose a 25,000 dollar donation when that donor researches them. But you don?t care, as long as you get your room at the Ritz. Your 990 clearly says that you don?t receive a salary from Good Charity Inc. Is that right Brian? Yet somewhere I read that you said the board approved around 50 grand for your pay and you claimed you could only take 80 or 85 thousand of it over 2 years.

I'm always leery about donating money to charities. So when I got a call from Good Charity Inc, asking for donations I did some research on them. They collect money for 5 or 6 kinds of charities, for groups like Veterans, breast cancer research, and terminally ill kids. I gave to the terminally ill children's fund, and I eventually ended up seeing one of their blog posts talking about the kid who (I guess) had a "make-a-wish" type day from the money that donors like me gave. not bad!!


Posting up scam reviews on yelp. I guess you just want to sink into all kinds of fraud. And btw, quit using the name ?make a wish? the only wish being made around you is your wish not to go to prison for charity fraud.

248 is a michigan number from around the detroit area assuming that the number hasn't been spoofed since it is very easy to send what ever you want for caller id.

I am sick and tired of getting calls from this number every day when we are on the no call list..we also get calls from michigan, and callers that the id show 000-000-0000..how is that even possible?? magazine house I told them to take me off their list yet they keep calling

Yes I got calls from this number today. Check out "topdogs" page 1 about this number. Very revealing. What crooks!

What really eats at me is that 2 years ago my dad was running to answer such a call, and had a fatal stroke while attempting to answer on of these useless, scam motivated calls. I so regret not having provided him with caller id, he just thought every call was important. I feel these calls are so intrusive, especially for the elderly.

We've been receiving calls from this number for 2-3 weeks, and nobody replies when we answer.  2-3 calls per day.

I get these kind of calls daily, just answer on speaker phone and don't say anything. Let the fun begin when they frantically try to get you to say something.
