Brian called and spoke with me....he is very nice, and once he knew I did not want to explore the financial field, he just asked if I knew someone who might.

Like above...Brian recruits for a financial planning firm, and was brief and decent to talk to.

Brian Blum called and asked for my husband, by first and last name.  I asked if I could take a message and he said it was rather long and he just wanted to leave it on the answering machine.  So he called back and I let it go to voice mail immediately I checked to see what the message was.  What he left he could have told me bc it wasn't long and was vague after all - I just knew it was some scam!

I too am on the DO NOT CALL LIST and we only use our landline for long distance/internet calls, so I'm like "who knows to ask for us directly on this line - my mother doesn't even have this number!"

It disturbs me to know 1. where did you get my unlisted number and 2. how do I stop you from ever calling back.  (hint-why we're unlisted and on the National Registry)

I just got off the phone with Brian, and contrary to the above post, there seems to be no scam.  He is looking for people who might be open the becoming a financial planner, and once I said that I was not, he very quickly and professionally ended the conversation, first asking me to pass his name on to others who might be suitable.

If it's a scam, it's a strange one.  All recruiters leave vague messages, so there's nothing odd there.

I just spoke with Brian, and it's funny to see people getting all wrapped up  about someone calling them about a potential career.  Anywho - he is very straight up in conversation.  I've agreed to meet him next week.  If I think of it (which I probably won't) I'll post back.  But I'm convinced there's nothing funny.  Hell, the guy's been doing this from this # for at least a year!

Brian Blum? called and wanted me to consider looking into financial services as a career.  While I don't want to, he was very pleasant to talk to, and very direct.

This guy is skirting the FCC 'Do Not Call' guidelines by implying that someone 'referred' you to him. If you didn't ask him to call you, complain to:

Matt called, he stated that the company is expanding in the area and he pulled my employment information and wanted me to call him for a possible full/part-time position. He did not name the company or position of hire.

I spoke with Brian, and it is a simple call - am I open to exploring financial planning as a career - either full or part time?  Nothing really odd, and he is professional and concise.

Brian called the house and left a message for me last night, making it seem as though he was referred by a former co-worker.  (slick message)  I am already gainfully employed in the financial services field.

Brian is looking for people who might consider financial planning as a career change, or even part time working towards a transition.  I'm going to meet with him to discuss the field, and he is very disarming to talk to.  He suggested I call to cancel if I rethink things and decide I don't want to talk, since he knows the field is not for everyone.

Same situation here.  Far from trying to push me into something, he was very open to ending the conversation once I told him I wasn't interested in pursuing a career in financial services.  Direct guy, but polite.

Man named Brian Blum called...he's looking for people to explore the field of financial planning.  I was not interested, but he is very direct and there's nothing strange about his approach.
