Offered second- extended warranty on Washer, but:
the first warranty didn't work - the washer stop working and the WARRANTY didn't "COVER" the damage.

Leaves no msg but has called twice, once on a Saturday am. I know it's about warranty for my dishwasher, but am not interested in extending it. I am a former ABC employee and know the rules. ABC large-appliance sales employees work on commission (a lot of people don't know this) and that is part of their job, their hourly wage, and ranking within their colleagues on the sales floor. No need to freak out about the call, it comes from their main corporate store.

Stores are cashing in on this. They even offer you extended warranties on rice makers, small grills, etc. Why would you buy a warranty on a $10. toaster? My personal favorite is the extended warranty where YOU have to send the item to another city to have it serviced. A little tough with a fridge. Pure cash grab.

According to Consumer Reports, any extended warranty is a waste of money.    You can spot a sucker by how fast they jump at the extended warranty.

Meanwhile, in our world where both the laws of physics and rules for spelling according to shills do not apply, extended warranties are rejected as wasteful price-gougers. We'd each have a better chance of cashing in meteor strike insurance than any panic repair plan. Every counter girl who has given me a scripted upsell for a "protection plan" has received my same reply: "If I thought the item was so unreliable I would not be trying to pay you for it now."

Just say NO to extended warranties.

Extended warranties are a major profit center for retailers.  Here is why:

Most items that are going to fail do so within the first 30 days.  Manufacturers refer to it as "infant mortality".

If the device survives that initial period, it is unlikely to fail until it simply wears out.

Combine this with the fact that over time people stop using products or upgrade them with newer devices, and the result it that the amount paid out in claims on an extended warranty is very low.

Put the money you would have paid for that extended warranty in a savings account and self-insure with it.  Over time you will pay yourself the profits you have been handing over to strangers.

I always get the ABC wharehouse extended warranty, and so far I have had 3 laptops replaced with new current upgraded models,  stove, fridge, and microwave fixed or replaced with new, I have had my frontload washer and dryer seviced 6 times for free( each time would have been over $350.00), and I had my 65" rear projection tv replaced with a 65" 3d plasma. I would ay keep the warranties going until they replace the item.

ive been recieving phone calls from this number for months, always wanting to talk to my husband. Well at 8 p.m. this evening i answered, pretty late for scammers to be calling, really rude lady trying to sell unwanted extended warranty for fridge. Coming up with multiple reason, none of which were legit, why i need to buy more warranty coverage. ABC needs to figure this out so customers are not badgered!  This is rediculous.......hopefully they do not call me again.

Absolutely agree!  I bought a  year warranty.  Didn't even have the washer one year, they had been out multiple times to fix the piece of crap.  They voided my warranty (that I paid for to last three years) and gave me a brand new piece of crap.  If it didn't hold up the first time for one year, why would giving me the same machine last any longer.  Don't sell pieces of crap and not stand behind them.    Went up there to talk to the manager and the salemen thought it was a big joke to pass the buck and pretend one of them were the manager until I asked for their name.  I said funny, that's not the name of the manager I spoke too.  They all ran like cowards.  What a joke!!!  The place sucks!!!!

Yep, ABC trying to extend warranty for 2nd year in a row. Didn't like the way they made it sound way more important than just a warranty.

Don't answer the phone.  It's a scam.  The guy on my voice mail said he was from US Appliance and needed to urgently speak to me about my TV I bought through them.  When I called back after business hours and plugged in his extension, I got the "extended warranty department of ABC Warehouse".  When the first words out of someones mouth are a lie, you can be sure every other word will be too.  Obviously US Appliance sells your information to ABC Warehouse.  I just wonder if they know that ABC warehouse poses as US Appliance when they call people...

2nd time they've called.  Didn't answer, but they left vmail this call.  Wanted to talk about warranty on my 1 yr old Sony tv.  I added them to my phones blocked list.

Also, for the posts saying they offer no interest payment plans for their warranties, doesn't that say something about how overpriced are their warranty extensions?

I bought my TV a year ago.  I have no idea if ABC is calling about a warranty extension or not because the rep left her name (Lynn) and an 800 # to respond to.  She called at 5 minutes to 9pm EST last night stating I needed to call her, it's about my TV and she MUST hear from me by Saturday.  Sounded urgent as if there might be a recall or something.  Sort of an alarming voicemail if you ask me!  Because it's been a year or longer since I purchased my TV and it only had a 90 day warranty to begin with from the manufacturer it puzzles me as to why they would only now want to sell me a warranty extension.  I refused their warranty in store because they wanted me to spend an extra $350 or so on top of the $1200 I was already spending.  This warranty may or may not be worth the money but after the SH!%%Y service we received in house I won't ever go back to ABC Warehouse so I'm not interested in an extension.  I'll simply go buy a new one from Best Buy or H.H. Gregg.  Furthermore the hours that this customer service line for ABC is open are a bit odd to say the least.  Lynn, did not state AM or PM so I was left with the impression I could reach her from 5:30am-9pm M-Th and 9am-12pm Sat.  However I call this morning only to receive a recording stating I could leave a message or call back at regular business hours of 5:30 PM-9pm....WTH???????  So I may or may not return this call after reading what's been said on this site.  Thanks for the info/input folks!

ABC Warehouse calling to extend warranties on your purchases.  I didn't know the number so I didn't answer.  Candice left a message and was rude.  She called again a couple weeks later and still very rude.  She doesn't let you get a sentence in.  If you tell her no, she hangs up on you.

They won't stop calling me either.  I got a free TV thru them thru an ARt Van furniture purchase.  I never asked for ABC Warehouse calls or anything from them.  It was just a deal that ARt van used them for.  How annnoyinnnggg.  STop calling if any of you fools responding about how great the warrenties are on here work for ABC.  Its NOT WELCOME and i never shopped at your dump.  the tv was just free and happened to come from you guys when i shopped at art van.

I had to give them my number so they could arrange delivery.  It didn't mean that I wanted sales calls every few days two years after I bought the thing!  I send these straight to voice mail.

I will pass on taking the call.  If they do not get the hint, then I will tell them to stop calling me.  I do not care about an extended warranty.  I'd rather buy a new one!
