I got phone calls from this number as well as other 248 numbers recently who never leave a message but continue to keep calling. I never answer them.

Why is it unprofessional to call on the 4th of July. If you had a business calling people, would you call customers when you know they are working or when they are most likely home? Get your head out of your azz.

On the evening of the 4th of July, 2012 I received NO LESS THAN 39 missed calls from this number. No messages were left on my answering machine from this number.

Called me also, but did not pick up. They left no message. If I dont recognize the number, I dont pick up. If its important, they will leave a message. Of course, they didn't.

Just got the call on 4th of July at 7pm. I, too, do not answer calls I don't recognize. I live in the 248 area code, so I may have answered -- but not expecting to hear from anyone today. Thanks for those who are reporting this number. Annoying.

We also were called on 4th of July at 7 p.m.
We do not answer any calls if we do not recognize caller or number.
This one said Royal Oak, MI
998 seemed a dead giveaway
Does any home phone have 998 for their first 3 numbers.

This is a recorded message telling me that I am eligible for a reduced rate on my gas bill due to a government rate change. It tells me to enter "3" to be taken off the list or "5" to be directed to a "friendly, helpful representative". But trying to enter either number before the message is finished doesn't work and when I tried the "3" afterwards I heard nothing on the other end until the call disconnected. Then about 15 minutes later they called back, this time I tried to contact a representative and that didn't work either, the message just keeps repeating.

They just called my home phone, caller ID said Royal Oak, they wouldn't say anything. Tried calling back got the same msg as Sue, "sorry the number you reached is not in service, please check the number and dial again".

They have called me 3 times now, and when I answer they say I am entitled to a discount on my Consumer's Energy bill. Push 5 to change my billing plan, or 0 to talk to an operator. They seem to have quite a few scams going on!

Received a recording from this number just now for an alternative gas provider. Obviously, they aren't targeting homeowners. Plan to report them to donotcall.gov, for whatever that's worth.

These people are blowing out my cell phone and home phone. Says something about getting a better credit rating. My credit is fine and I have no idea how they have my numbers. Irritating! Don't answer if they call!

This means 248-998-7452 is spoofed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing and your caller should be treated as hostile.
