Must be a scam

Didn't recognize the number, let it go to voice mail, and they recorded silence.  Have now blocked their number.

When they called, I didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail.  When I retrieved the "message" it was only silence.  Have now blocked their number.

Called again today at 11:55AM and when answered, no one on the other end.  Tried to have that number screened out by Telus but didn't work because according to Telus this number is allegedly disconnected or belongs to a business...  Telus call screen "service" is anything but a service and they are really unhelpful when dealing with scammers.

Man with Indo-Asian accent phoned me to inform me that my PC had a virus. I asked who he was-(I didn't understand-his accent thickened each time I ASKED A QUESTION). I asked who he worked for, & again got the heavy accent, I think he said he worked for PC Security. He knew my name & address AND email through F-Book...not enough for me to give him my credit card information.
Ten minutes of yanking this guy's chain was fun, so I finished our conversation, "You're saying my 'PC' is most definitely infected, got a virus-MY 'PC' HAS A VIRUS? "it certainly does, sir", he replied...

"I'M RELIEVED THAT YOU DON'T DO YOUR RESEARCH, BUDDY.I DON'T EVEN USE OR OWN A PC'", I told him.
"I have dialed the wrong number. 'Click'. He hung up.,
I haven't heard back from that number. I also dislike criminals, & stupid criminals...even more!

Got a call from this creep 4 times in the last 2 days. He keeps trying to tell me he is damn i forget he is trying to sell me something anyways. I told him not to phone. He as I said has phoned 3x since waking me up each time.

3rd phone call from this ^ss^ole wanting remote access from my computer.
Got smart and called the national do not call centre and reported him then called the Canadian Anti-Fraud
centre and reported him. Their number is 1-888-495-8501. CALL THEM. Unless we take action it will only get worse.

Yowie I hope you didn't download files or anything. This number is associated with a broad range of scams...it's possibly a Skype number, which would account for some people getting calls from friends who live a long way off. Be leery if the caller says they are from some business. Like I don't think things can be so bad at Dell that they would use a number like this.

I received a call at around 8 am this morning from this number.  Said his name and told me that my computer was going to stop working in 2 days.

Called on Sat Nov 9 at 1.09pm. Hung up before I said "Hello", on 3rd or 4th ring.

Sept 19, 2012, Josh called me from on 250-220-1090 claimed he is calling from BC Business Listing to verify the business name and the address in order to continue to be listed in the BC Business Directory, Service fee $600 annually. I have turned down their offer this year the same as last yearlast year. We never paid for listing in BC Business Directory in the past.

Got a call from this number on Sept 11 2012. Was from Dell computers regarding a warranty for my laptop with them. The 250 number was really fuzzy for he called me back on a 1-800 number. I definitely think it is a paid switchboard to lower long distance costs that anyone can use for a fee.

On a side note the Dell technician was legit. he is the one who sold me the unit 2 years ago.

I just had a call from this number.  If I would answer a short survey I would be rewarded with cruise ship tickets.  I pushed '0' to speak with a person and the line went dead.  So much for Canada's do not call program.

I've been getting calls from 2502201090 for several days and they always hang up when I answer.  Anyway,  Whoever you are, guess what?  You are now blocked from calling my number.  HAR!

Text said "interested in bike for sale" "call 778-6780 250" in that order?
This is a scam fake buyer who will then send you a fake moneyorder overpayment and request that you refund the difference.

I got call this number and answered with qurious.
It was my brother from Korea with his cellphone. Usually when I got call from Korea my display was their phone number. But this time is weird. He said he just called . : (

Got 14 calls from this number but of course didn`t answer.

Called today at 11:30 AM while we were away - didn't leave a message.

This number called 2x today.  The first time I answered and they asked for me by my first name and continued to ask me if I was still interested in making money from home.  I said no thank you and hung up.  About an hour later they called back, but I let it ring!  When will this crap ever stop?  I'm thinking of totally disconnecting my phone with the amount of 855, 800, and all the other area codes calling my place.  I'm even on the DO NOT CALL Registry.

Just received a call from this number. It was a recording saying I had a text message and was asked to press 1 on my phone...I didn't and hung up.

Is Telus not able to stop the scammers. Not much point being on a No Call List when one still gets calls. This number has to do with credit cards

These are criminals who are spoofing the number (they are likely off-shore). I got a call from them at 7 a.m. and only dead air on the other end. The number has been used for several scams (credit card interest rate and computer sending error messages).

I think the number is being used after they attempt to make contact on another number (likely spoofed through the internet) and they are hoping that somehow a day or two later you have become stupid and gullible. That attitude/belief tells me how little grey matter these criminals have.

Got a call from this number at 7 a.m. on a Saturday (how rude!!...but of course these scammers are probably off shore and are too stupid to understand time zones). I picked up and just got dead air.

It is interesting that this number has infrequent complaints...5 over 9 months...and that the scam varies from the old credit card scam to the even older computer malfunction scam. I don't know what they were after from me this morning...however, I got two calls from "James" yesterday (James who had a heavy south asian accent) saying he was from Microsoft and that my computer (which was unplugged and packed up due to construction) was sending "error messages" yada yada yada. The call display said it was an unknown number and unnamed person calling.

I'm guessing my call this morning was a follow-up to that attempt yesterday.

My last words to "James" after stringing him along for awhile were that he needed to learn when to give it up and move on to the next victim, that he was a criminal and should get an honest job.

I hate criminals but absolutely detest stupid criminals.

I received call from (250) 220 1090 at 4:28 am on July 24, 2012. I answered on second ring on bedside phone and expected emergency. Why else would someone call me at 4:30 in the morning? There was no response from caller who hung up after approx. 2 minutes.

I am very suspicious about this type of anonymous call at ANY time but especially at that hour. Who can investigate this and identify the caller?... This is obviously a problem that must be investigated. Anyone who is up at 4:30 am. to make anonymous calls must have an agenda that should be investigated by police or other appropriate authority.

This telephone (250-220-1090) holder call on a consistent basis to my phone. Doesn't say anything, or leave any message. It's scary to receive these kinds of calls. I do not want to receive these calls. That's my choice, I like this caller to stop these unlawful activities. You are abusing the use of their phone. Stop this abuse. Bye,

I had a phone call in Victoria BC from 250-220-1090 and it was my life long friend in the UK. So I think this has something to do with cheaper long distance phone calls or was a call across the internet. Dont know.

I've said the call was unknown because it was my friend. I did think it strange this number was on my caller display (I live in Victoria BC) when she is in UK. I called this number back and it kept ringing.
