I received a call from 250-344-0004.  There was no option to remove my number from the list so I pressed "1" to talk to a customer service rep.  Someone named Nicole answered the phone.  I asked her the name of the company and she hung up.

And telus call blocking won't or can't block it? Tried 250-344-0004 and 344-0004 and no can do! It won't accept.telus bot op gives you 3 redundant excuses why for, such as the number doesn't exist or it's a private business caller or some other crap.

Obviously spoofed number, since the area code is local but they claim to be for all Canadians. Probably a scam, as others have said.

Scam company on how to reduce your credit card debt. Press 1 to continue press 2 to be taken off list. I pushed 2, it said thank you. End of story. This seems to be the newest scam out there to get you to give up all your personal information to a company that will help you with your credit card debt. The only way you can be helped is if you own a home or assets that are worth something. If not you are just a poor person who is in debt and all they can help you with is taking more of your money. Ready to lose money, then push 1. If you are in debt, just get another mortgage and pay off your credit cards, you don't need a company to tell you that. Good luck.

I signed up for the dnc and 6 months later went back to register a complaint,
they told me I wasn't signed up.  What kind of BS is that?
They got really pissy when I sent them back a copy of their comfirmation of my first registering.
Like somehow I had challenged this petty individual's authority.

Debt reduction scam. Does reporting it to CRTC do anything other then provide employment for CRTC employees?

The hard sell goes for a minute, then says push 2 to be removed from our call list. Complain to CRTC. Possible scam to collect credit card numbers. Probably robocall centre out of country that uses in-province numbers to route calls.

Doubt this call is really coming from Victoria BC region. It's a robo call and they are calling people on the DNC list....therefore, a scam. Apparently trying to get your credit card info or trying to bill you for debt reduction advice that you could get free from any bank.

This must be the scam of the month....have had calls from several numbers asking to reduce my debt. Like really? You plan on reducing my debt by giving me a big bill for non-existent services or by stealing money out of my accounts. Sure thing! A sucker born every minute?? But it ain't me.

It was a robo call - isn't that illegal in Canada? Apparently they are calling people on the DNC list also.....these two bits of info tell us it is a criminal scam. It is also likely that it is a spoofed number that may not even be coming from Canada. What cagey little creeps these are...calling an area using the local area code since we are more likely to pick up a call that seems local.

After I said hello - there was a delay in starting the scam. Then a "lady" on taped message began..."this is an important message for all Canadians"...I didn't hear anymore as I was shouting obsenities in case a live person was listening in.

4th message in two days all from different numbers but the same message.  I dont have high credit card debt and am also on the do not call list, I'm hoping to actually be home when they call the next time so I can yell at someone.

I've been called numerous times from this number.  I have registered with the Do NOT CALL registry and yet I still get called.  Does the registry actually workwork?  This is so annoying!

It has been at least 1 yr. since i have received this type of call. The last time when I talked to someone got in a heated conversation to waste a lot of their time. The male @ the other end ended up getting very abusive and it was quite funny.When I told him to remove me from their list I was told he could not do that and he was the supervisor. When I told him we have new rules in Canada and he had better remove me from the list he asked if I was going to sic the FBI on him? The # 250-344-0004 on my caller list did not match the # that showed up on call display when call came in. Unfortunately I do not remember what the # was when the call came in. Not able to connect to the 250 # when I called it back.

Same Bull s***. Now blocked on my Shaw home phone! Probably a spoofed caller id anyways.

Didn't answer and I will not report since I have not had very good luck with the do not call registry.
