Yep this sounds like someone scamming, Got a number not in service as well when I tried to call back.

Caller asked for my husband. He said it was not a solicitation and he was calling from NC real estate ????? Then I asked if I could help he started to say something then he hung up on me.

Number came up on caller ID as "Cell Phone NC". Called the number back and recording says the phone is no longer in service.

I got a call also from that number. You can't call it back & they leave no message.
