The AT&T Galaxy and probably other cell phones can block unwanted calls.  Whenever it shows a number not in my contacts, instead of answering I look the number up.  If it is a robo or other marketer, so-called survey or charity, goto Phone, Settings, Call Settings, Call rejection (Manage Auto reject mode), Auto reject list (Manage auto reject number list), +, etc.  

I have moved my landline to my cellphone, identified every caller and eliminated many nuisance calls.  It is nice to not be interrupted and bothered by robots, scams and idiots.

This # is listed on my phone as my voice mail #. I don't understand if it is my voice mail and the # for someone else do they get my calls and do I happen to get some of theirs? Guess finding a new # for voice mail might be what I need. If that is even possible.

This phone number has called many times. Verified by *69. From reading these posts, I guess the only thing I can do is change my phone number.

Got a call from 253-236-2188 on my main line at work.  No one was there, or if they were, they hung up.  I'm glad to read the information I've read here in this post.

I get calls all the time on my cell - Sometimes 3 - 5 times a day . I never answer

Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

I got a call from this number.  He said he was from a law firm and if I didn't respond I could be held legally responsible  and could go to court.

Received a voice mail, gruff voice saying:  "Why don't you ever answer your phone you jerk!"

Got 5 calls from this number in one day!  One message of this number was my previous attorney, C.Powell.   Weird?

Got 5 calls in 5 min. on cell phone. 1 left message that said May call back later.Somehow thy tried to get into my voice mail.

I'd like to know who called me

Voice message with several minutes of crappy music.

Got call in evening with male voice slowly saying "Listen to the children of the night, what music they play...hehehe." Spoken so slowly that I can't tell if drunk.

Would be nice to find out who is behind this number.  No message, just another number to delete.

These are both numbers for AT&T/Cingular voice mail systems.
My phone seems to be configured to forward certain calls (busy/unavailable) to one or another of those numbers.

Who is the true owner of this number?
