These ppl just called me at work 5 times in a row saying something about a loan...very heavy accent and very annoying. When I asked them to please take me off the call list he asked to speak with my supervisor. I quickly told him where to go and hung up. He called back I just picked up and hung up...no calls since.

These are scammers living in some foreign country. There are few legal consequences, and very little you can do to stop these callers: even on a do not call list, or blocking numbers. While there are a lot of tricks that you can use to aggravate them (whistles, loud noises, asking them a thousand questions etc.) these actions will only make you feel better. Do not answer the phone if you do not recognize the number. If it is important they will leave a message. I got an answering machine at Goodwill for $3.00 and it has served well. Get an emergency cell and do not give out the number to anyone but close friends, family etc. I have a tracphone for that purpose: emergencies. I am still working off an initial investment of 20 dollars airtime after six months.

I have had a huge rash of these calls lately as well. They don't even need to know your number: they just dial a set of numbers in a block of numbers--that is why few things work. They spoof real numbers to avoid detection. Good luck.

They have called me continuously asking about a car loan.  I have told them that I have not applied for a loan and I am not interested for them to stop calling.  One person asked me "then how did we get your social and your date of birth"  I said I don't know because I sure have not given that info to anyone.  They will not stop calling.  What can I do to make them stop.
