I am a professional translator and got an e-mail from johncaplan111@gmail.com. He claimed that he was working for World Health Organization in NY and wanted handouts translated in Japanese at a seminar in China.
After replying with my quote and he wanted to use my service and wanted know my address so his financier will be able to cut the cashiers check to mail it.
I thought the material was inappropriate for any seminar for WHO. It was also with a wrong language.
The address I got from his was for sale.
I Googled the phone number and found this page.
This is a scam and I am glad to found this page to confirm my suspicion.

I am selling a product on Craigslist and got an email from kevinhalll03@gmail.com saying he was on his honeymoon in Hawaii and wanted to buy my product for a surprise for his new wife. His secretary would mail me a cashiers check and his movers would show up to pick up the item. He just needed my full name, address, and phone number to cut the check. Not having any of his info I wasn't about to give out that much of mine. I was surprised that the emails kept coming. I would respond and he would respond back. He said his phone number was 253-242-9624 and that is how I found this site saying that number was a scammer. I'm really glad I found out that my instincts were correct. When I googled the number it said it was a landline based in Washington. The name the person is using is Kevin Hall on the emails. When I looked up the email address it came up as Kevin Hall in Modesto.

These is part of an internet scam. These people are fraudulant and are mailing fake cashiers check with a stolen identity. They target craigs list and mail a closed account on watermark paper. The remitters name was stolen. Let's put these people in prison where they belong. If there in another country suck up their time and string them out.
