This was meant to put a smile on your face.  

You cannot stop this.  They are coming from all over and all are VOIP spoofed numbers.

I have a call blocker I bought off Ebay and it works great.  I don't keep getting the same number coming through.  They have to, at least, waste time spoofing another telephone number to get my phone to ring.

After pressing 3 to end the calls over 5-10 times I finally pressed 1 to talk to someone to make sure I don't receive calls anymore.

The guy that I talked to said they sent a letter, and I told them that I did not receive it. He "put me on hold" and acted like I was a different person, and then started swearing at me telling me to "eat a black dick." And stuff similar to that.

Called me  at 4pm 10-16-2012. CID showed lower interest, recording was "Rachel"  Reported to fed and state DNC list. So damn tired of this.

I get a robo call from this # several times a week. I'm on the d c register. How do i get them to stop?

I am so frustrated with the almost daily calls from (253) 382-9908.  I have pressed "3" to opt out and it never helped.  Today I stayed on the line to speak to an "operator" and as soon as I said I had pressed 3 , she hung up.

CID SAYS 'LOWER INTEREST.' It's the same old female voice recording or computerized voice, who variously gives 'her' name as Amy, Rachel, and recently doesn't give 'her' name at all. This same recording comes from many SPOOFED NUMBERS. Under the guise of offering to lower your credit card interest rates, they are trying to get you to give them your credit card info SO THEY CAN COMMIT FRAUD. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!

Keeps calling but never leaves a message.  I do not answer calls I do not know. Annoying.

What I have been doing with these kinds of numbers is this:
I chose the number of a known scamming telemarketer, set it up in my selective call forwarding option as the receiving number, then when I get these kinds of calls, add them to the call forwarding list.  The calls should no longer ring through and go to annoy a known annoyance.

These calls have got to come to an end.

People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office and also file with:

If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.

The calls are being made from outside the US however most of the call centers (where you actually talk to someone after pressing 1) are in the US and the companies making the money from the scam are owned by people in the US.

Many of these calls are coming from Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false) numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC. Keep complaining to the FTC and FCC, and start bugging our politicians to pass laws to make it punishable in criminal court instead of handing out fines that they don't pay. Another course of action is to contact phone companies to find out why they won't block spoofed numbers. With today's technology that should be an easy thing to do, unless they are somehow profiting from the use of their systems.

The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them nothing and they can make a million of them a day so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.
Unfortunately blowing an air horn or whistle doesn't work either. Their headset have noise dampeners plus they are expecting it. However with that said if it makes you feel better then by all means give it a shot.

For anyone thinking of using Special Information Tones (or as they're called in the industry SIT tones) to fake a non working phone number, they won't work. Since around 2001-2002, the costs of "digital" business lines have dropped dramatically, along with Voice over IP (Internet) telephone service. Neither of these use the SIT tones as the call information is carried separate from the audio.
This separate call information tells the calling party digitally if the call was answered, busy, voice mail, forwarded, rejected, etc. This renders SIT tones useless. Also the "TeleZapper" products that used to be on the market used this method as well, and were rendered ineffective for the same reasons.
It is also through this separate call information message that the spoofed caller ID information is transmitted.

Robocalls are illegal unless you have given them prior permission in writing (not worded into some small print contract from a 3rd party) and are absolutely illegal to a cell phone.  The Telephone Consumer Protection Act permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for each violation.

Many of the disposable numbers come from Pacific Telecom Communications Group and they are currently under investigation and in the midst of various lawsuits. (The principles involved have been part of actions by the FCC under other business names).These businesses have ripped people off for millions of dollars, yet have paid only a couple of thousand dollars in fines. The only way to stop them is to throw them in prison for a few years to make this criminal activity less attractive.

Same old robo-call from "card services" that has been calling me for over a year.

Called 9/25/2012 at 10:02 AM.  Another credit card scammer.

I usually don't answer these but I did and the message was in progress sayign hit 1 to take advantage and 3 to get of the list.  Lets see if 3 really works.

Oddly enogh they are saying to save interst on my credit cards.  I don't have credit cards and haven't for years.  Not getting in that mess agesin.

I get many calls with the same caller ID--lower interest.   Don't know if it is the same number as we usually ignore these calls.  Pushing 3 to be removed from their list does not help.  When I try to speak with someone about stopping calls, I am usually hung up on.  Also, if you try to call back the number, you get a disconnected or temporarily out of service message.  This is really annoying.

Caller ID showed "Unavailable."  Did not pick up.  No message was left.

I Strongly advise anyone else getting calls from this number to do the dsame! Do NOT EVER give your credit card info or bank info or ANYthing else to anyone over the phone! Although this article I wrote is primarily focused on the elderly who fall victims to scam sweepstakes and online dating scams, there is alot of good info in the article which can be used on these stupid telephone scams - such as disclosing personal info, etc. When we are armed with good info and we fight back, we will eventually win over these scammers trying to steal from us!

I keep getting calles from this company phone # 253-382-9908 called lower interest and have filed several complaints against them but nothing ever happens.  I have pushed the # 3 as stated in their message to discontinue receiving calls and also thhe # 1 to talk to a live rep and when they come on I have asked in person for them to remove my number and also asked to speak to their supervisor and all they do is hang up on me.

Repeated call from unwanted caller.  Have requested removal of number many times.  Calls 2-3 times per week.  No answer upon call back or request for operator.

We have received calls almost daily for about 2 years from this number and others, many from this exchange.  They are from 'Card Holder Services' and are recorded messages from "Rachel" (usually) offering us a lower interest rate on our credit cards.  Our 'last chance'  Press 3 to be taken poff our list (never works) or press 1 for a representative.  If we complain and tell them we are on the no call list, they hang up or make a nasty comment.

"Rachel, credit card services" ... blah, blah, blah - same old garbage lower interest rates.  This particular number called us at 7:30am Sept. 20 and then AGAIN TODAY Sept. 21.  I am getting sick and tired of all of these "robo calls".  Pressing whatever number to be removed from the list does not do a darn bit of good.  Being on the Do Not Call List does not do a darn bit of good.
