Just received a call from a woman who spoke very little English from this number.  Telling me I have Chase, Capital One and Bank of America Visa cards and my balance for each and that they could reduce my interest rate.  As she is speaking to me I google the phone number and find many comments reporting this was a SCAM. As she is asking me to confirm card numbers for her I proceed to let her know I have found she is in fact a Scam artist and I will be reporting her.  Company name came up UMPC and Ranking company. She immediatley hung up on me.  When you call back it sends you to a busy signal or an opt out service.  How are these people able to pull my credit report for Bank of America. Are they selling information??? Unbelievable.

Yesterday I received a call from 609-409-9616 and was offered a lower interest rate on my Chase card (I have 3) so when I asked which one, they couldn't tell me but kept phishing for information asking if I was paying over 10% on ANY of my Chase, Bank of America (which I don't have), or my Capital One card.  The sad thing was is they had all of my information without me giving it to them.  She was able to tell me my current balance and available credit.  And since my available credit was "under $700" she wasn't abel to offer me the lower rate and started asking me about all my other accounts.  I informed her that I didn't carry any other cards and that I'd have to check at home to see if I had enough funds.  I asked for a phone number to call her back and at which point she offered to call ME back.  Knowing that this was a phishing attempt, I called Chase to inquire and report about what had happened.  Chase informed me that this was a known attempt at gaining access and that no such offer by Chase was out there.  When this company called me today from another number 253-753-9121 it sounded like the same person (with a foreign accent) to which I informed her of my call to Chase and that I wasn't interested in what she had to offer.....strangely enought, my call was dropped.  Please BEWARE....do not fall into this horrible phishing scam

My cell nr is on the national do-not-call list.
I escaped from a scamming organisation, claiming to be "Credit Card Services" who called me several times with the nice promise to lower my credit card APR if I could just confirm that I was the account holder and which card to start lowering first, because they claim to work for several banks. I just needed to give them the last 12 digits of my credit card number. They claimed that they already had the full number, but were required to verify the card number. Yeah, right. Luckily I did stick to my principle that I will only give my card number if *I* call a person or organisation that I know. If I am being called out of the blue, why would I give my credit card number? During the conversation, more and more cracks appeared in their ploy and in their good manners, I felt seriously pressured and already hung up on them, only to be called back immediately but then I calmly stuck to my principle: I do not give my number when I am being called. They tried a couple more times but finally they hung up on me. The numbers they used to call me are: 410-672-7961 and 253-753-9121. Even though I could not detect an accent, I have the suspicion that "Scott" and his supervisor "Robin" were not present in the USA and if they were, then they were hiding behind a badly overloaded VoIP telephone connection, breaking up all the time. Be aware and warned for this scam

Scumbags called on 714-898-5475  the guy I talked to was trying to get my credit card number and I told him he was breaking up and I could only hear parts of what he was saying.  We agreed to hang up and call back.  He called back on 253-753-9121 and he ask what type of CC I needed to lower interest on I said American Express he ask me if  the first four digits of the card match what he said. I said yes and he then ask me to repeat the rest of the numbers.  I told him I was going to give his two numbers to Homeland Security telling them I over heard threats against the govt  and they will be in his shorts forever. The arrogant b*****d said " no you won't" and hung up.  Someone needs to find these clowns and kill them because we don't need to be locking them up at tax payer expense.

Received a call today from 914-963-0149 and also from 253-753-9121 claiming to be Bank of America and  asking for credit card number information to verify I was the card holder so they could lower my interest rate.  I was suspicious when they continued to ask for information about the card number.  Do not give any information!  Bank of America is not lowering interest rates.

They called me today.  I talked to them telling them I do not give out my information over the phone.  And if they were calling from my card company then they know the information and I don't need to give it to them.  I told them to go ahead and read it out and I would see if they were for real.  They kept giving me come nonsense and eventually I told them to stop bothering me with their nonsense.

I know they just call blocks of numbers.  If I get a bunch of calls from other scammers I'm going to complain to Verizon.

I must have been called by the exact same person as you because I had an exteremly similar situation.  I canceled all my cards and bank account immediaately, have called all three credit bureaus ,and reported the incident to the appropriate gov website.  When I told the guy I was not interested anymore the "supervisor" got so mad at me and told me I was a stupid American and it was too late for me to back out because he already had all of my information.

This number also called me on 8/30/13 and said they wanted to lower my interest rate on my credit card; the phone kept cutting out and it was difficult to hear the guy and when I would not give him any information he eventually he got mad and hung up on me. Definitely a scam! When you try to call the number back an automated message says that it is a telemarketer.

This happened to me this morning. Automated "card services" message on my cell, told me to hit 1. Spoke to man who sounded to be from India. Kept on asking me for Chase card number and expiration date. when I told him I'd call him back he hung up on me. Then he called back from different number saying we got disconnected. He proceeded to tell me what my interest rate was and to get me a lower rate, kept on asking me for card number and expiration date. I laughed at him and told him it was a scam. He got mad at me and insisted not. When I told him I'd call Chase later he angrilly hung up on me. I called Chase and they said it was a scam and cancelled my card.

Extremely poor transmission phone call. You can bearly understand the indie person verifing your card info.
They propose to lower credit card rates, but after rambling on and putting you on hold,  you end up speaking with a supervisor who says a fee is going to appear on your statement, but "not to see it as a burden" as I would be getting a reduction in my interest rate.
The last step was he was going to bring on reps from my credit card(s) to verify I was intersted; to which  I declined and hung up.  He called back saying it's a done deal all I need is to bring the bank reps on and I replied, if its a done deal why do we need to continue talking?  It's not a done deal until the reps get on the line.  You are wanting to charge a fee to lower my interest rate.....and I'm declining. I shouldnt have to pay anyone and the Sup ended up hanging up on me.

Not quite true.  The first 6 numbers on your credit card identify the issuing bank.  They already know those, and they use them to elicit the rest of the number.

I'm with AT&T and the package we have allows me to  block 10 numbers. As the list fills up I usually just delete the # 1 entry and add the new one. Usually, but not always, they've discarded the first number and moved on to others. They only bother me once for each number. For my cell phone I save the number and change the caller name to Junk call 46,47,48, etc. and add it to my "Junk caller" Group that has no ring tone..

They called my cell phone twice this afternoon within a minute. The first shows as a missed call. Maybe my phone didn't connect to the robocall voice first time around?

The recording said it was Heather. No problem with my credit card account, but I was asked to press 1 to get information about lowering my interest rate to 6.9 percent. Pressing 2 was supposed to "discontinue further notices" but when I pressed 2 nothing happened. The call just ended.

I'm on the DNC list with this number, by the way.
