I received two calls today from this number.  I didn't answer because I didn't recognize it.  I'm going to block them since it seems they are causing trouble.  Anyhow, I give to my local volunteer fire department.

THE CALL AND HANG UP-THEY USE ALL KINDS OF NAMES LIKE ALABAMA-ARKANSAS-FLORIDA ETC  - HARASSMENT-THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE PROSECUTED.

Tony, good advice - I've done the same thing. A friend told me her Panasonic blocked calls so I bought one when I saw they were on sale. I have a different model and you do have check to make sure you are buying the model that blocks calls. Mine works just as you describe.

We got a call from 800 Service  1-888-521-4010 at dinner time today; I was checking on number before I blocked it.

******************************************************I have found one way to block these kind of calls, well you have to receive one first and then you can block the number just like saving a number on your cell phone or any advanced phone, the phone I've talking about is the Panasonic model number KX -TGA641 which is my personal home phone.  After you receive the call you have the choice to save the number to your phone book or to Call Block and I simple save it to call block, it will store up to 50 phone numbers in this data bank. It will also save 200 numbers in your regular phone book. When the solicitor calls you they will get a busy signal on their end and you will get a half ring on your end to let you know that a call has came through, here is a list of numbers that I've checked out to be telephone solicitors within the last 3 months: This first number is one that they like to use because regular telephone service will not block it but the Panasonic will  1-000-000-0000, 1-402-952-4444, 1-212-897-0541, 1-941-355-3333, 1256-606-4139, 1256-886-3142, 1-703-291-9005, 1-516-453-5562, 1-786-358-5655, 1-256-280-2171, 1-855-232-9534, 1-855-348-2371, 1-888-888-8888(another one that gets around regular phone block systems), 1-617-778-2270, 1-256-261-2605, 1-888-521-4010, 1-256-261-2606, 1-256-261-2607, 1-256-939-4939.  To this date I have eliminated 20 telemarketers calling my home phone, they still call because I get the little half ring that lets me know this, I began sending Panasonic and Sony and Vtech, Uniden and several others the idea to add this to their technology since the arrival of CID and being able to block unnecessary calls to your home phone.  Panasonic has as of this date been the only one to add this option to work with the CID to help us all get rid of the unwanted calls, If you try this Panasonic phone and like it please help by sending donations so we can continue this work on blocking the new ways their coming up with everyday to get around these caller blocks. I'm sure glad I have call block, I block all calls that the "do not call" registry lets through..

Time to report these calls to the FCC.  I do not answer phone calls whose numbers I do not recognize. If they cannot identify themselves through caller ID, I will not answer them.

Called and left no message.

They claim they are from the Decatur fire dept trying to collect donations --- scam --- as far as I can tell.  They hang up on me most of the time before I can even get to the phone.  They call multiple times a week.... aggrivating!

I would love to know who you spoke with.  Yeah we have some callers that are brand new because we are under new management and staffing.  My name is Josh Thurman and I manage this office and If anyone has any questions or complaints, my office number is 256-261-1370.  We do put on concerts at the Von Braun to fund very legitimate safety programs like the Mobile Fire Safety House.

First the money is for  concert tickets, then donating to tornado victims in alabama, then to red cross, then to disaster relief, then to firefighters, all within 5 mins is what the person was stumblin to get words out, kept trippin him up i guess

Scott calls and say hes from the decatur Fire Dept.  My uncle is a fire man there and  say they dont call and ask for donations.

never give money to someone calling saying they are from Decatur Fire dept.  its a scam. They keep the money.

Calls several times a week and hangs up before the answering machine picks up. I don't have the money to donate to anybody and wish they would quit calling me. I greatly dislike the fact that they can sidestep the Do Not Call Registry by using cellphones to make these calls and feel it is a violation of my privacy to do so. I wish there was something that could be done to stop these calls. If they would like to ask me for donations, they can mail out requests. This includes every facet of the emergency workforce. I greatly appreciate the firefighters, sherrif's department, police department, and everyone else, but I cannot monetarily support them. I do not appreciate when I talk to someone, and they continue to try to convince me to give them my money even after I have said I would like to but can't. I find this rude and offensive and even though saying all of this here is really of no use, it makes me feel better to do so. Maybe I will find a way to stop these calls. If and when I should be financially able, I would be glad to donate, but for now, I want them to leave me alone!
