Got a text from this number, saying my credit union debit card had been deactivated. Called the number, went to a voice mail asking for my account number. I hung up, and contacted my credit union.

Rec'd text saying "THE CREDIT UNION CENTER ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 254-304-2258."
Nice try, Scammers. I'm not a member of a Credit Union and don't have a card with one.

Just got a text saying the same thing, forwarded it to at&t. Im betting everyone else is on at&t also

They left a text message for me to call a number with a local area code so I called and it asked me for an account number at this point I hung up and figured it was a scam.

sent text message to both myself and my husband....with a number to call ,......1-860-924-2017......the message there is that it is not an active number! Something is not right!
