I have been getting these calls daily for several months. 256-417 and then the last 4 digits change. I did answer a couple of times but the second I answer the phone they hang up. Isn't it illegal to call cell phones by machine?

I have been with ATT on my landline/dsl for many years and my account is on time and not late. These people are calling on my cell phone which ATT does not have. From everthing being posted it does'nt sound like legal collectors. Sounds like a scam just hoping to scare someone into paying.

Also this is not an Mississippi area code this area code is in Alabama

this company called me today and i dont know who it is. does anybody know? when i answered the phone it said if this is not such and such ( the person they were looking for) then hang up immediatlly

As usual its Saturday morning and these phone calls start. I just don't answer them.

I work for a collection agency and when they lady from this number asked for me by my nickmane I was right away concerned. I asked what's this about? They way she answered it is illegal for a collection comapany I said oh she's not hear.she hung up I got on her to see what it was. Glad I did. Like I said I work for a collection compay the way the lady talked to me was ilegal I strongly believe its a scam

Yea I just recieved a call from these people and they told me I owe money from 5 years ago. I was 13 at that time and was not old enough to have debt. So yea the next time they call I'm going to give them a piece of my mind. I'm glad I found this forum because not I got a drift of who they are.

They are now calling me.

This is another scam site being hosted by "Level 3 Telecommunications LLC". You can find their website at http://www.level3.com/en/about-us/company-information/ It lists the CEO and entire management team. Compaints to this carrier service about this number may have some effect.

CLAIMS TO BE Franklin Collection Services Inc  of Tupelo, Mississipi
Supposedly representing AT&T .
Said that I owed $141 that is past due
I checked with AT&T
I paid my AT&T early today 03/10/2012
The bill was not due yet.
I  PAID  $131.70 to a zero balance.
That amount would have been due  on MAR 15, 2012.
It looks as though they were trying to get me to pay some other amount directly to them by claiming to represent AT&T,
and by claiming that I was past due
The amount that they claimed was past due was not even the same as the amount of my next bill, which was not due yet.

They can't garnish it but the company you owe money can depending on your state

These people are annoying.....They cuss at you if you don't reply to thier demands... Terible customer service.

Same happened to me. I switched to ATT, and inherited phone # with calls from 256 417 6176. The caller ID reads FCSI and it looks like they did not update their listing. Unlike Tracy, I do not want to spend my time on calling them and cleaning somebody's mess. I'll probably go to twitter and cuss them out over there :)  to let the steam out.

I recently switched to a pre-paid cell phone and instantly started getting calls from this number. I've told them at least a dozen times "I am not the person you are looking for, remove me from your call list". They have not and I still get calls. I just got one (on Sat) while ago.

Isn't robo-dailing cell phones federally illegal ??? It's always a machine calling me with a "please hold" message. I've sat on hold for 15+ minutes before just to tell someone they have the wrong number.

Couldn't understand company's name , the female caller wouldn't give me her name.  Said we owed $237 from 3yrs ago.  Wanted an account number checking. Credit card, or debit card but would not tell me what the bill was for or the orginal business was owed .  They call every day beginning at 8:00 am and again at 3:30 until 9:25 pm is the latest .  I don't answer anymore and I've noticed they change their phone number every 4-6 weeks .  This company needs to be investigated .!.!

I work for a mortgage company and we do call some to collect a debt but weather or not we leave a message is based on state regulations....but this number doesnt seem to be legit!

This is Franklin Collection Company.  They did the same to me telling me they had made numerous attempts to contact us.  This is the absolute FIRST call or notification we have ever received. They then wanted us to give a credit card number over the phone to take care of the debt but then stated it may not be satisfied with that.  When asked if they could mail us a bill, the guy became irate and acted like we were trying not to pay him.  WHAT A JOKE!  The bill is less than $50.  I'd never give a card number to someone like that.  Especially if they are going to start adding what they want to a bill. I'm contacting the company that they say gave this bill to them and will ask them first WHY since they know our address and have not sent us a bill or called us themselves.  It sounds like a full blown Scam!

I got a call from them too.  No idea why they are calling and they refuse to leave a message.  The only way I found out about them was to look up the number and found this forum.  

What is the first thing we do when we see a number on our cell phone that we don't recognize??  We don't answer it!!  Until they leave a message concerning any debt I may have I will never answer their call...

Call your bank and see if they could help you or stop payment. if not close your account and open another one.

Just received a call from this number on my cell phone this afternoon. They didn't leave a message so I thought I would do some research to see if I could find anything out about this number. Glad I did and haven't and probably will not be calling them back. As far as I know don't most legit debt collectors leave messages?

This is Franklin Collection Service Inc.  I received a call from them stating they had tried numerous times to contact us (which is a lie).  This was the absolute 1st call we have received from them.  They then wanted us to give them a credit card number over the phone to satisfy a $32 bill from 2yrs ago.  We didn't even know there was a bill.  The business they stated sold them the acct, knows our address and has no reason to do this.  When we asked if they could mail us a bill so we could pay by check, they got irate and said they would call us every day until we paid the bill.  It sounds like a complete SCAM to me.  I'm contacting the original business 1st thing Monday morning to find out more.  I'm also lodging a complain about their practices with the BBB.

I got a call from these ppl on Saturday and I did give them my acct info. Now I am scared. They said if I didn't give them my info they would garnish my wages. What do I do?

I received a call from this number and didn't answer immediately. After about five minutes of online research, I called them back and the lady who answered was black and simply said "hello," but not before she said "this is ____ _____, MY name." I responded by asking who I was speaking with and she simply said "a collection agency." riiiiight. So I told her I had read some reports about her number harassing people and she responded with "this is a collections agency." When I asked her what she was collecting, she hung up. CLEARLY a scam. I hope no one gave out any info to these people.

These stupid people called me @ 10:30 am on Christmas eve morning....I answered, pushed the button to speak with somone....waited...waited...and then gave the lady who answered a piece of my mind!!!!! I did nt even know the person they were looking for. It was "an attempt to collect a debt" Geez....These people never take a break!!!!! I was appalled!!
