Mary 2014-02-26 19:47:34 Unknown
Just the ringing of the phone disturbs me as it's usually just as I start to fall asleep while trying to take a nap.

I get at least 3 a day and my daughter even found l of the company's and begged them to stop calling so my family could get through to me in my last days. No luck got 2 more today. Guess next step is I'm getting a very loud whistle and believe me I have enough breath to blast their ears. Maybe they will get the message.

Just because there is a law, doesn't mean everyone will abide by it. Most of those rogue callers are in other countries and could care less. The DNC is not a technical solution.

Agreed!

Upon *67 and calling back this number, a telco recording says "your call
cannot be completed as dialed..." I'll have to take yet MORE of my time and report this number again. Thanks Pres. Clinton for ruining our Telcom industry even further!

Received two calls today. One a New York number, one an Indiana number. I never answer. Whether it's a land line or cell phone. I suspect these calls are all spam. No law says that I must answer. The phones are for my benefit, not theirs.

Received a call today 2-17-14 another telemarketer who want to separate you from your money.

Scammer. Free medical alert device. Avoid.
Sue 2014-02-05 17:28:46 Unknown
I wonder the same thing. ALl these companies can call in when you are on a dnc list. What is the point of signing up if all these places call you twice a day everyday.

God, you are one rude B**H! You did all those computations probably because you're one of the 30 reaping the perks and complaining you're over worked.

Callede at 9:25 a.m. 30 Jan 14 - Robotic call trying to sell medical alert devices
Bissie41 2014-01-19 14:34:40 Unknown
I forgot to mention that I pushed the button for the second option,'Never to be called again.' And, that I've been registered with the DNC for years. Not that that makes any difference. It's useless.
Bissie41 2014-01-19 14:28:24 Unknown
I received a call from this number on 1/17/'14. Got a recording saying I'd won a free 'medic alert.' Then, gave me 2 options: 1) Push, and request me free 'medic alert.' 2) Request never to be called again re a free 'medic alert.' I hung up.

U got that right. I wish I was a gs49 instead of a gs13
merriemarie 2014-01-07 20:51:06 Unknown
If the caller is competent enough to punch in the number, why isn't he/she competent enough to leave a message? Why don't phone companies have to report these people who call, who won't identify themselves and who just generally bother the heck out of the rest of us.
Tred 2014-01-06 19:01:29 Unknown
Dat b like a GS 49 or sumin?

>>> I am on the do not call list!! What good is this list if you still receive unwanted calls. <<<
Well, you get what you pay for. It's been reported here that there are about 30 FCC employees that maintain the DNC list. Let's estimate each one earns $500,000/year in salary and perks. I know, that sounds wrong, but don't forget all the free perks they receive, for example, free coffee in the federal lunchrooms, all the pencils and pens they can steal, yacht trips with Obama in Hawaii six time per year, junkets to Virginia and Maryland, and free parking at the office.
That's a total of $15,000,000 a year on the federal DNC list alone! Now, if we spent all that money on those Digitone call blockers we see mentioned all over this web site at $60 each that block up to 1,500 unwanted numbers, we could pay for call blockers for 250,000 lines a year! Realizing that landlines are becoming passé and counting only cell phone subscriptions, and assuming that we only have to be concerned with the 310,000,000 cell phone subscriptions currently in place, at today's estimated level of funding, it would only take 1,240 years to supply everyone with real call blocking technology instead of a DNC.
But with your luck, you would probably be the last person to get a Digitone call blocker.
