Why do you pick up the phone when people call?

Thank you all who have posted.  So far three time this number has called my cell number...no message when I did not answer.  I do not call back unknown numbers; especially without a message.

This is the second time they call my cell and leave no message. One, i am a mechcanic. So I reported them plus enter phone # in to my phone as Spam  and then block them.

Just called me. Said that she was from GM, (spoke with a foreign accent) and asked for my miles on my car. Told her several times if she was from Gm that she would know the miles because I just had my car serviced last week. She said to me that "If I knew your miles I wouldn't be calling. Would I?"  We went in circles until she finally just hung up. I called right back. Got an voicemail saying that they were closed and opened Mon-Fri with Pacific times of operation. WHAT!!? They Just called me. On a Saturday.

Called my cell phone.  Did not leave a message.  I don't know who this is.

Called my phone 3 days in a row but I'm at work and couldn't answer. No voice mail and even when I called back between business hours it still said it was closed. Weird. Glad I didn't answer after reading these posts.

I received a call from this number on 3/19/14.  He wanted to know the mileage on my car (he knew the make and model - he may have even known the model year).  I asked him why he was calling and he said he was calling on behalf of GM regarding the warranty and wanted to know the mileage.  I told him I didn't know the mileage and he couldn't believe that I couldn't even give him an estimate.  I told him it wasn't something that I looked at every day.  He asked if I could go look and I told him no, that I was at work and didn't have time for this.  I again asked him why he was calling and he said he was calling on behalf of GM and needed information so he could "reactivate" the warranty.  I didn't understand what that meant so I asked again and he restated the same thing; then mentioned he wanted to ensure the car was being properly serviced - or something like that.  I told him I've had warranties on all the cars I've owned and I've never had a phone call like this.  I also told him that I take my car to the dealer as necessary and they have the records.  I told him I was at work and didn't have time for him.  He said he would call back that night, and I hung up.  

I just received another call from this number (3/21/13) but couldn't answer it.  No message was left.

This number has been harnessing me for 2 weeks now. Tried calling back and office is closed. Won't answer

2 calls from this number in 2 days; 1st call went to VM with no message left, 2nd no one there when answered.  On callback, get voice mail that office is closed.  So why call me on a Saturday?

I just received this call and did not answer.  Upon lookup, it says it's in Harleysville PA.  I got the same voicemail when I called --- that their office is closed.  Very strange.  Thank you for your posts --- very helpful!

I've had several calls (>5) from this number in the past week--no message left. From other posts, this sounds like a call I don't want to answer! Thanks to others who have posted--I won't try to call the number back, either!

same number called my cell phone about half hour ago...did not leave a message
I called the number back...they answer...thank you for calling....office is now closed open 7am-4pm pacific time

I have received a call from these people 2 days in a row, never leaving a message.

The caller stated that they were a vehicle processing company. They asked my about a car that is in my parents name but according to them, is in my name. I own a car but it's not the one they called me about. Scary because they knew my first and last name as well as, make, model and year of the car
