Collector, Advanta Bank

Got a call from this number...From a Barbara Hall from Advanta Bank.

So is it pretty much everyone's opinion that this isn't even Advanta calling?  I get at least two calls everyday, usually very close together.  One says "Advanta" on my caller ID and the other has this phone number.

I get at least five calls from this number  every day and these people are very rude and not very professional.

A computer calls, tells me to hold, then a man answered as if I had called him ("may I help you?").  When I told him his computer called me, he began asking for a person I don't know, then asked what number he called.  When I said, "You called me, don't know what number you called?" he got very hostile. Then I hung up on him. He said his name was "? Wood."  Caller ID gave the phone number 267-525-4218 but did not say "Advanta."  However, I do get 5-6 calls from Advanta Bank each day.  I answered one time but got a recorded message.  I haven't answered since then

calls three to four times a day - leaves a call back of 126-752-54218, obviously too many numbers, voicemail sounds recorded and foreign - ?

Have received a bazillion calls from Advanta Credit Card.  This after I had already sent them a written letter explaining that I would be requesting an "Offer and Settlement" for the balance I owed.  They raised my credit interest from 7.99% to 35% (a state maximum) and then closed the account. Need I say more.  Advanta has now filed Chapter 11.  Do a Google and see just that they have approximately $84 million in assets.  Who are the creditors? Advanta sub-units.  They were moving funds between their own subdivision and holdings!!! Then they announce that they would only be paying 60 to 65% of what they owe.  Since most of the increase of what I owe was due to interest and late penalties, as a past shareholder, I don't think they will be getting the full amount I owe!!! They inflated the interest rates so that they could increase their losses for the bankruptcy.  How convenient!!!  

The greatest difficulty of obtaining a judgement is collecting the money.  After I communicated I have received harassing phone calls and messages from the following numbers:

They left a message saying that if I didn't pay within 15 days I would be reported to the three credit reporting agencies. Since I have made arrangements with other companies, am current with other companies, do I really care about Advanta? ABSOLUTELY NOT111  Their problems were from their own greed and screw ups. Not mine. I was current. Paid more than the minimums regularly and this is how we are being treated?  BTW - Advanta only has 42 employees.  That's about 42 too many!!

Call 2 or 3 times per day. Never anyone there when I answer and they never leave a message. When I called the number a woman immediatly asked for my SS number and account number. I never give this type of info and when I told her that she got rude and vulgar and so I just hung up. According to other sites I have searched this is a scam to get credit card numbers. Why can they get away with this? I reported them to the FCC and maybe if enough of us do they can be stopped.

Some d****head named Matt left a message from this number. He didn't bother explaining why he was calling or where from. He kept repeating my name like a psycho.

If you want them to stop calling you, send them a letter notifying them to not contact you (send it certified so that you know they received it).

P.S. If they are calling you all the time and leave a message more than once a day, it is illegal and considered harassment. Also, if they are calling you at work and you ask them more than once not to call you, that is also illegal.

It's a Advanta Collections Company. They tend to call a few time everyday.

Got two calls from Jim who works for Advanta Bank...as he claims, anyway, is looking for a Gina and I told him there is no Gina here.  He said, that she calls from this number.  I told him, that I was a guy and I had no girlfriend by that name....ever!

He kept calling and leaving messages.
