I got the same message that said either hay or hey

THESE ARE NOT PRANK CALLS OR WRONG NUMBERS
The messages are deliberate.  They are trying to determine something.
I would suggest that you do not put the exact time you received the SMS

Reporting sites (like this one) could very well be part of the data mining scam.
