This is the latest scam from overseas. They don't stay on the phone on purpose hoping you will call back. When you do, they can and have put charges against your account. Check your billing immediately if you called. Some of the charges have been in the hundreds of $'s.

Called me too, I read online that if you call it back it activates a calling plan on your cell oi !

They want you to call them back and you will be charged 19.95 they just did a special in Chicago on the news about this...don't call back!!!

I'm just curious does everyone have Verizon service that gets these calls?

On the news they were talking about these calls this morning.....do not call back.  That is exactly what they want.  They will then connect you to a 900# porn line with a $20 connection fee.  Then on top of that there is a $9 or $10 charge per minute....which you have no way of getting the charges credited back.

Got that 268-762-0026 call at 10pm one ring and almost called back I'm glad I didn't

Two (late) nights in a row.  One around 11:30 and one just after midnight.    I hear that I should not call back or I will be billed, possibly for porn (from an NBC News report.)

Called after 11pm @ night, rang & hung up before, I got to my phone.

Do NOT call back! They will charge a high bill to your phone!

I just got a call from Antigua and Barbuda.  rang twice and they hung up.  I think it's a scam to get you to call them back so they can charge you long distance call or toll charges to your phone.  DON'T CALL THEM BACK!

same here! 6 am. i didn't answer and they left no message.

If this --a court authorized settlement phone number--is then the attempt to contact me, that attempt was futile. A prank call...

Same as everyone else some sort of scam. They call and hang up.

Someone called me last night at 10:29pm from this 268 number.I didn't answer, glad I didn't.

I keep getting calls from this number, they never leave a message. Have had four calls in the last week. tried to call back and got a message about technical difficulties.

Talk about "Pirates of the Carrabean" getting calls from area codes 268, 473, 767....obviously some sort of a scam. If you don't know whos calling...DON'T ANSWER the phone and don't be stupid enough to call back. If it's someone you know they will leave a message....start reporting these scams to your cell provider fraud departments.

I have recieved several of these calls..No one answers. I googled before calling back.. Glad I did..

As mentioned by others,got a call from (268)762-0026 at 7:26am (p.s.t).Caller/ID showed Antigua/Barbuda.Did not even bother answering and just deleted the number.

Past 2 days I've gotten very late night calls from this number.  Unfortunately, I didn't read the info from "Into-the-mystic" and made the mistake of returning the call.  You get an auto-response that the "international call" can not be completed as dialed.

Follow the advise of "Into-the-mystic" and DO NOT answer/return the call and block it from your phone (and thru your provider if you can).  I am getting so tired of these jerks that abuse a service that I PAY FOR!!!!

True! But Mouse makes a good point!  I also think there's no excuse for our phone company's allowing this to happen either.

The enablers are the people who don't learn and can't be bothered to learn anything about the telephone numbering system and thereby make it profitable for these people to operate their scams.  These people are actively sought out by phone companies (especially cell phone companies) if you've noticed -- they are represented in their advertisements as people who dance and jump in the air while using their data phones to text who knows whom, all the while looking as though they stuck their fingers in the electric socket to make their hair stand on end.

A better solution is for people with limited resources to learn how these scams work and why they are profitable so they don't get caught up in them.  That not only helps themselves, but everyone else who gets bothered by these calls.  If it weren't profitable, the scammers wouldn't be doing it -- NSA or not.

Otherwise, we should probably insist on licensing phone users and requiring them to be tested periodically to make sure they have sufficient common sense to use a phone.

It's a shame NSA can't use their considerable resources to identify and stop the perpetrators and frustrate the enablers like Telepremium.
