I received a phone call this morning from this number saying congratulations that I had won $1,000,000.  The male individual quickly went on to other things. I said who's calling, he said some thing like publishers clearinghouse or something on that order. He said he was calling out of Florida. Well with a 269 area code on my caller ID he isn't  calling from Florida. Consequently 269 is my area code & I'm from Michigan. I said telemarketers are not supposed to call me. He said something like fine. I hung up on him. I put him on call blocking for future calls. On my voice messages I put a greeting saying  "if you are a telemarketers stop calling. I'm not going to answer the phone anyway & if you are friend or had business with me leave a message. Goodbye!"

Someone from this number keeps calling and hanging up. Extremely annoying, it wastes my limited minutes.

Just moved to LA and was pressured into signing up for the local newspaper by a young high school student going door to door at my apartment building. I regretted signing up at the time and even more so now, as I have been receiving calls from Kalamazoo, MI 269-290-7122 nonstop since signing up. I never answer, and they don't leave voicemails. I'm going to report them and block them from my cell phone. Very irritating....

Today is the first day I have started getting these calls.  I answered the second time and there was only a recording that said "goodbye" when I said "hello?"... then it disconnected.  I recently subscribed to a new newspaper (about a week ago) but I am not going to be happy if I have to deal with these calls like everyone is complaining about....

If anyone figures out how to stop them, let me know!

Received a call from this number today, September 8, 2011, a Thursday, at 230pm.  I didn't answer.  The caller did not leave a message.

keeps calling my work number - never leaves a message. today i heard typing on a keyboard in the background - looking for the next person to harass?!

Recently subscribed to the Daily News from a kid selling subscriptions at the door. It was suspicious but he wanted a voided check! I am getting the papers but I am also getting these calls all the time! This was the number oin my check, which I dont use...

Funny thing is, I just added this number to the national do not call list today, and now I suddenly get 3 calls from these guys.  

The national database said that the telemarketers had up to 31 days to stop calling... I think these guys watch the new additions in the list and start calling them for the next 30 days.  I will let you know if this is the case.  

I did check and the link I used to file was the official gov do not call site, too.

It's an outfit that chases subs for various publications.

I signed up for IS too 2 weeks ago, and have been getting calls 2-3 times a day. So irritating that the paper would sell our info like that! I don't recall agreeing to that! I'm going to go check my receipt...

Start calling and harassing these people. This is the company making ALL of the calls from ALL of the different phone numbers from this single location. They use a "spoofing" gadget that can generate any caller ID number they desire, making it look like the calls are coming from AL, NH, CA, MI, and wherever they choose. This is ILLEGAL. You newspaper also has some nerve SELLING your phone number to these bozos without your permission. I recommend everyone CANCEL your subscription. It WAS YOUR NEWSPAPER WHO GAVE OUT THE NUMBER! If they deny it, they are LYING. File a complaint with the BBB, ant the FTC against BOTH of them!

I am on the do not call list and have been receiving calls from this company with whom I have no business. I have requested to be taken off their call list. They call at odd hours and  hang up the phone when I answer. If I call them back, they hang up.

I just got a call from this number, my son answered asked for me by name, when I got to the phone and said Hello they hung up! hmmm not nice!

Our local paper ran an article which stated that Cell phone numbers have been released starting this March 2011 and made public.   You need to call the "National Do Not Call" number (888) 382-1222 from your cell phone.  This will block your number for five years.

True to form this number and many more have started calling.  This is even happening on my husband's "pay as you go" cell phone.

It takes 30 days for the calls to stop.  Remember to call from the cell phone you want blocked.

Still waiting,,but hopefully the calls will stop soon.

GRR! I recently subscribed to the Desert Sun Newspaper. I received my 1st paper last Sunday. On Sunday morning I answered a call from a weird number which turned out to be a lady from the newspaper. I told her I received my paper and everything was just freakin' peachy.  Since then I have received 6 more damn courtesy calls from random numbers all going back to the same message!

"Hi. This is your newspaper. Sorry we missed you earlier today. We were calling to check on your service and to make sure everything was going ok and to see if you have any questions. If you do, please feel free to give us a call. Thanks so much. Buh-bye. BEEP"

I called the Desert Sun and asked to be removed from ANY phone contact. Get a hold of me by mail. I'm going to leave a message on this machine thing requesting to be removed from their courtesy call list as my number is already on the Do-Not-Call list and they are supposed to cross-reference BEFORE they spam people. If it doesn't stop, I'll just cancel the paper. Screw it.
