Called my parents' thursday or friday from 269-381-4780.  "heather higgins" said she had full and part time work available, etc.  whatever.  I haven't turned in a job application or resume in over 7 years now.  I'm employed.  Used to be a WMU student so it appears from reading other posts on here that someone, somehow, got ahold of WMU phone list.  I won't be calling them back unless they call my parents again in which case I'm going to have some fun with them.

Said her name was Sheryl and asked if I was interested in any part time work.  Left this #, I tried calling back and it said that the number was being checked for trouble.

Brady Madden is "not a good kid."
Brady Madden is part of a company that is fraudulently calling people offering full or part time employment and is trying to trap them into purchasing into their high priced breast enhancement pills and "jesus juice."

He may not have been part of Trek Alliance, but Symmetry Direct is operating the exact same way that Trek was right before it was shut down. That includes Brady Madden's calling and offering full or part time employment when he doesn't have employment to offer.

I am getting damn tired of these people defending illegal activity! It's getting old.

Brady is a good kid. His company is product focused. He is a REGISTERED NUTRITION CONSULTANT. I heard of TREK ALLIANCE too. Screw that company. Brady was never in TREK.

i got a call from a girl named heather saying that they had open part time and full time jobs available. the number was 269-381-4780. she said she was from westmac. sounded fishy when we got off the phone so i looked it up and found nothing other than this page. so i dont think im going to go to the interview thing. i was thinking i should call the cops and see what they have to say. maybe if i went and they did turn out to be a scam, maybe i could bust them. that would be funny.

There was an announcement on the Western Michigan website not too long ago that talked about this. I believe it may be an identity fraud scam. The call seemed rather unprofessional and sounded like she was calling while driving in a car.

WMUGirl96 is probably a "Independent Business Owner" of Symmetry Direct, the company that is illegal operating under the name "West Michigan Advanced Concepts" in Kalamazoo.

There is no job, these are not interviews, and they are illegally obtaining names, phone numbers, and information from people.

SO when they call us, Wmugirl96, why don't they say who they are specifically, they are being shaddy as far as with holding information, and being misleading.  They ask us if are still interested in a job with their company, when we have never really applied for a job.  They refuse to specifically tell us (or well, me in my case) what they do, is it a sales job, is it a reception job, is it a job at a dump?  No one knows!  I'm not a marketing major at all, i'm majoring in something else completely different.  How did they get my number, why can't someone tell me where they got my number from?  I have filed a report because i am on the do not call list.  Why are they being so sneaky about things?  I have to argee with someone else who said that if it looks like a duck, and quacks like one, then chances are damned good that its a f***en duck!

Well, sorry its been so long to get back to this page to update, ive already had a few people ask me.  I chickened out onthe interview.  I drove by where they were located and it just seemed shaddy, there was hardly no writting on teh door, no sign saying who or what they were/are.  SO i called them back and told John i couldn't make the interview, and he sounded pissed, something about how he had to go to chicago that weekend, and he wanted me start right away next week.  Uh,hello, i have no idea what they do!  what a scam artist.  i don't care what anyone says.  something isn't right here.

I'm just saying you all need concrete evidence. Any body can write stuff on the internet these days. The only reason I can defend this company is because I have been affected directly by them. But if I had as little information as the rest of you I would keep my mouth shut.
I'm sure anything I say would sound like a "sales pitch" to you Emma. Whatever that even means. It must be a duck!!

They are a direct marketing company. And anyone who knows what a direct marketing company is knows that they are not illegal. You don't have to agree with me, just get REAL information before you talk s*** about something you don't understand.

maybe it hasnt hit you yet miss wmugirl96, but it is a prymid scam, the company ends up taking all your money. OR why dont you just read all the comments from the few people who have worked there and mentioned how they lost all their money. I think that the majority of us college kids, esp in the Kalamazoo area, are smart enough not to fall for this dumb offer. And instead of diet pills that don't even work, why don't you have your family get up and workout. I bet you'd make a lot more money in that area of work. So I'm going to go by what all my professors are suggesting and put that company on the do not call list. I find it a little suspicious that they can get as much info about me that they did without my knowledge.

To call and say that you are calling about full or part time employment is scandalous, and is illegal.

They are not calling about a job, they are calling to recuirt people into their pyramid scheme.

What is so difficult to see about that wmugirl?

Are you one of the people calling others offering a job when you have none to give and are trying to defend your actions? You have family members who "have greatly benefited from this company" which sounds like a damn good sales pitch to me.

Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck... MUST BE A DUCK.

PS Brady something or other called me. I searched the web for Symmetry Direct scam and found a host of wonderful information out there folks!

So I have heard of this before...Some network marketing companies get a hold of people's names (i'm not sure how) and then cold-call them and tell them about this great opportunity for part-time or full-time work.  It is a scam, they have several openings for people (they'll take anyone who will join them)...don't listen to a word they say!!!

It honestly seems to me that most of the peole who have commented here dont' have an understanding of what an actual pyramid deal is. One person said they went onto the website and saw that the company was about selling nutrional supplements. So is Dell.com a pyramid because they sell Dell computers?

A pyramid deal is the exchange of money  WITHOUT any goods or service. A direct selling company is not a pyramid deal. It's like a store except they market their products a bit differently then some places.

As for Symmetry, I don't understand how people can call a company shady when its first priority is to help people with their health. I have family members who have greatly benefited from this company in terms of their health.

I just think that peole should have the facts about a place before they judge. And before they come to any conclusions, instead of just saying, "Oh, I received a phone call...that place is shady, or a scam."

These people (WestMac) called my parents house back in Detroit area about 2 months ago. They left a message saying that they were a medical marketing research company. Since I am going into marketing, with a strong history in medicine, I found it as an interesting job. But a little suspicious that they got my parents number. I actually went to the interview place on sprinkle road. The place was a joke. They were no medical marketing company. They were trying to get us to sign up to become one of their employees that sell diet pills. I walked out on them so I didnt leave them any of my information other than my email. I will still have to check my records just incase. But I can tell you that the company wasnt any good.

Received a call yesterday, much like all those described here. Caller Cheryl asked for my WMU son by name indicating that she wanted to talk to him about some design work (his major).  He was puzzled as to how someone got his home #. He returned the call, but got a voicemail. As we are on the Do Not Call List, I am planning to file a complaint.

She left a message on my voicemail saying she had a job opportunity. There was a lot of background noise and she left a number to call her back at. Good thing I heard about this earlier that day.

I am also a WMU student graduating in the spring. Jenna from WestMac called and spoke to my dad. At first I didn't think anything of it and then I searched the phone number and found this website. My roomate got a call about an interview last week. She searched the company and couldn't find anything... They were located on sprinkle rd as well. I wonder if it was the same company!

Just got the call this morning, couldn't quite make out the name of the company...West Mac or something, decided to google the phone number and found this forum. Pretty crazy to see the number of posts!!
I'm guessing they got my number from Bronco Jobs, thats where I posted my resume and my phone number.

I agree, WMU is not the culprit.  I am not the scammer, I am the victim.
Westmac, or mat called my home phone about 80 miles from Kalamazoo. My mom called to say that i received the job from Sheryl, Charly, or Charyl Jones at 269 342 5770.
It could be the emergency contact because I just filled the emergency information about 3 days prior to the phone call. Strangely I didn't put my cell phone number.
Also she said something about being self motivated, market manufacturing company which is customer based. I honestly thought it was one of those sales/marketing companies like trillum.

they just called me about a job offer, TODAY. I was interested in the health or holistic area, so I assume they overlooked the WMU career experience website, so i was trying to find a map for the address, and come to find out 5148 Sprinkle Rd does not exist in Portage or near Portage...I might have to  call her back...I might not even show up
thank you for the posts....

A couple of weeks ago (during spring break) I had a voicemail on my cell phone saying that I was referred to for a part-time or full time position at a company called Webcam.  Being that I never get soliciting calls on my cell phone I was suspicious, and I remember that it was a 269 #.  I was contemplating calling her back, and now I'm very glad that I didn't.

Same tired story as the rest of you... except my phone call was from a man with "West-something" asking if I was still looking for full time or part time work.  I have been putting a lot of applications in, so it threw me a bit, but I didn't recognize the company so I didni't call them back.
