I had two of these call today and tried hitting 5 but noone answered. Seems they're not really interested indoing compensation really. Wish I could stop them.

Received a call from VO in California USA Telephone number 001-269-768-2013 offering to consolidate my debts into one loan. I told them in no uncertain terms to stop callin my number, this is the second time of asking. How they get hold of X Directory numbers I don't know!!

At least you can opt out using their automated system.

yea i am in West Virginia in US not UK and i recieved 2 calls from these people today as well so it looks like not just UK getting bothered

Same here: automated call at 19:42 - I pressed "5" and asked the call center staff how I could make an official complaint: I was given a reference number. Maybe it cost them some money to take the call, maybe not.

Received an unsolicited call from this number at 18:00 BST today.  Recorded message.  My number is ex-directory and is on the phone call preferences list.

I agree with Daniyyel, stop using such derogatory words about Americans. This includes Yank(s)! I would defend any other group just as much as them, so stop making the rest of us look ignorant with your flagrant name calling.

Just got a call from these bozos. I tried looking up the company on the internet but it doesn't exist. Telephone number 001-269-768-2013 and VO International. The phone number is from a small village in Michigan USA. I was able to track down the telephone company providing the line to the company. When calling them, I spoke to "Kevin" who took my details and said he would contact the company for me as their company has a non-disclosure agreement and cannot tell the customer the name of the company!!!
If anyone else wants to contact the telephone company responsible for allowing this company to spam telephones in the UK here are the details:

i got a call from these people a few days ago but my daughter answered and said no-one was there so i hung up, well tried to but they were still on the other end when i tried to do 1471, again a recorded message.  i got home today did 1471 and it was the no:0012697682013 funny how a recorded message knew not to leave a message on my answer phone. my no is exdirectory and i am supposed to be on the list that stops unwanted calls. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Receiving a number of calls - this time a few minutes ago hit their '5'., and got through to their center - claimed to be in Californa (using English operators, what's the bet its actualy UK based via VOIP back to UK.
The BT Prefernce call help line , said they can't do anything as the US has not signed up to Preferenc list. So spam email and phone calls are a free for all out there - if you cant stop this sort of thing then not much hope for their 'War on terror'

This is the second time in a few days that I have had a call from this number. When I ring off and try to dial 1471 to see where the call is from, the call is still ongoing.

This was a recorded call that appeared to be from the National Compensation Helpline.

And just a few minutes ago even though my number is on an inhibit list.  VO International is the name (I think) they gave - going on about consolidation of debts and 'recent government legislation"
