I've had several calls from the 270 area.  Based upon what happened when I answered and what people are saying here, ALL of them appear to be scams.  (My experience:  If you don't answer, they don't leave a message.)

Recieved a call today, Sept.30.2011 at approx.11:11am. Caller said " We are raising money for the FOP ". For the fallen police. ...I stated sorry can't help now and hung up just as he was about to lie to me again.

called this # back...got elevator music...called real kop

just recieved phone call from this number, tried looking it up but it onlt states it's a cell phone number from the Owensboro, metro area. Hopefully people won't get scammed by this idiot!

Just got a call from this no. and I asked where he was calling from and he said from his home in Rhode Island!  I happen to know that 270 area code is a Ky area code.  Gave the FOP line and I hung up.

Only said FOP, won't give any other info.

Just got the call from 270-499-7010. Didn't know who it was so I didn't give them a chance to ask for anything.

Not sure. I did not answer since the caller id said unknown. They did not leave a message.

Got the call said it was for Fraternal Order Of Police Fund Raiser for injured policemen and families.  Ask him to mail me the info he said they can't do that.  Yeah right!  Scam!!  Sadly some people will fall for it.

Have received numerous calls from this number. No message left, so it must be a telemarketer.

I ignored the call.

Called back and got a "fund raiser" purporting to be FOP. Scam.

Got a call around 6PM from this number. My answering machine picked it up & they did not leave a message. The only thing on the ID was Calhoun, KY & this phone number.
