I just got another call from them. The caller started his free web site speech and I asked why they had called today and hung up and why they called yesterday. He was very rude and hung up on me. We should not have to put up with this abuse

I have had at least 4 callas from this number just today 07/08/2008. When I answer it just hangs up. The last call I did not say anthing and only took about 30 seconds and then disconnected. We have caller ID and We are getting this call at our business. I am with LSRP I will from now on let it meditate to the dial tone. <G>

Everytime they call, I either hang up or don't answer. Meditate to the dial tone.

Got a call from this number today.  The first man, who spoke very fast (I had to have him repeat several times) assured me he was only verifying my company's information for the "free business listing" and that I was already listed from last year.  I verified only what is already publicly available and then asked him specifically whether there was any charge for this listing.  He said no.

Then, (and here's where it gets ridiculous) he said he had to transfer me to his confirmation department to verify that we had spoken so that I wouldn't continue to get calls.  This is when I knew this was a scam.  I asked him why I had to verify anything since I wasn't ordering anything.  He stated again that this was the procedure and his supervisor insisted that he handle the call this way.

The original caller wasn't quick enough on the hold or transfer key, because I heard him say to his partner, "Man, she's trippin about why she needs to verify...".  Then, the second guy picked up and he talked even faster than the first guy.

This guy started by telling me that the call was being recorded and he wanted me to state my name and company name "because that's the procedure."  I told him that I wasn't going to repeat what had just been told to the other person and the guy got ugly.  "Ma'am we're only following the rules and this is for your free listing."

I told him I didn't want a free listing and he jumped in with "you've already got the free listing, but we have to verify this for your free trial service of the website.  We provide you with a website at a very low cost and you get a free trial."

Ah!  So, now I knew the reason for the call.  This is the same crap small teleco providers used to pull in the early '90's when they would "slam" your long distance provider.  In this case, however, they trying to get your domain.

At this point, I told the guy that I didn't want a free listing, I didn't want a free trial and for them to put me on their "do not ever call this number again or I will sue your a**" list.

Telemarketer
Call came in to my business, my dad picked up the call. He doesn't pay too much attention to details, but said the person on the other end was verifying a some sort of online listing. He said we weren't interested and then hung up.

His handling of telemarekting calls irritates me.

One trick I have learned in using the Tele-Zapper is when the call comes in and you see the ID (and this works better if you have a speaker phone), answer the line, let the Zapper send it's "beep", and then go ahead and hang it up. This may ensure your number being deleted from the computer list. BTW...thanks for the heads up about the newer version of the Zapper, I'll check it out.

We have this number show up on our caller ID several times a day, with three times in just three hours today. However, we have a TeleZapper on our phone and it disconnects this and other computer-dialed numbers as soon as we or the answering maching picks up. We bought it years ago at Radio Shack. I see that a newer version is available through Amazon, according to the company's website at http://www.telezapper.com/. It has been worth the very small investment over the years. However, I don't know why this number keeps calling back, as the TeleZapper sends out a signal that, if the call is coming from a computer-generated system, tells the system that it is an invalid number and should be removed from numbers to try. This seems to be one of a couple that keep trying anyway, but it definitely does cut down on calls not dialed by a real person.

A man who did not identify himself, except to say he was calling to update information for this business's address for Yellow Pages. He repeated the address and I told him that was correct. He then wanted my  name, which I told him,Charlotte. He told  me he needed my last name as well to confirm the information I just verified was correct. He was very persistent as I told him I didn't see a need in him having my last name. I had to hang up on him.

I continue to get phone calls from the above number.  Yesteday the person on the other end apologized when I told him I had already been contacted and was not interested in receiving phone calls at home.  Today, the person on the other end got rather ugly stating "you don't even know why I'm calling".  When I told him I had already be contacted at least 3 times this week (one per day), he hung up.
