I'm sure the guy was just trying to scam something. I just hung up on him..could hardly understand him but smelled something fishy.

I get repeated calls very late at night from this number. An unpleasant voice says hallo. I did not say anytthing. Next time I will call the police.

I got a call from Larry Davis, claimed from Maryland, Microsoft Support. I asked for call back number - he gave me 201-399-5899. He claimed they were getting warning messages from windows firewall and needed to 'fix' my computer. When I asked which one - (we have 3) - he didn't know. I think it's the same scam as noted here

I have had several calls in the last couple days and answered today.  Said he was from microsoft and needed to repair my computer because I have been downloading many viruses.  He started to try and gain access to my computer and I said I wasn't comfortable with this call and I got hung up on.  SCAM!

Larry Davis.  We are calling because we are getting warning messages from your windows firewall.  This is taking up valuable space in your firewall and preventing you from saving your valuable documents.  

I asked him what was the Microsoft reference number for this issue and he hung up.

This scam tried to take remote access of our computer.   Claiming to be from Microsoft.

got a call from "Windows" claiming i had malware and must stop what i was doing as my computer was in danger. i quickly typed his instructions into Google and saw it is a scam.

My call was from a Brian Williams...same microsoft scam. "My computer is ready to crash and they need to gain access to fix it"...I told them I wasn't comfortable with this and they hung up. Phone number came up on call display as a Wisconsin number. I had about 4 separate calls from 4 different numbers, but all 274 790 0xxx and all today. I was curious, so answered one of them.
