I know, this guy kept on and I kept telling him he wasn't for real and how did he know it was on my computer.  I had a computer virus program..  He said it wasn't good enough and I need to look up this file.  I asked him the name of it and he said error & running was I going to look it up.  I told him no, I would call my software people and he was not for real.  I wasn't going to my computer for him!

They think we were born in the 18th century and are stupid! NOT!!!!

This guy is persistent.  He called Saturday during a Derby Party we were having.  We had 17 people at the house plus 5 children under the age of 3.  I told him I couldn't talk.  He said he'd call back in an hour.  I said, "did you hear me?  We're in KY and today is the Kentucky Derby and I have a large group of people here.  Plus do you hear that baby crying?"  He called back 3x this morning but I was not able to take the call.  He just called back  I had him repeat several times who he represented.  He claims PC Wizards.  I knew from the get-go this is a scam.  Companies like his have been on the consumer alert reports of local TV stations, but I wanted to hear his schpiel.   Much like the other callers, he requested I press Ctrl and the Windows button at same time.  I refused.  He assured me he was trying to "help" me since he got a report that our computer had errors and harmful programs on it, yada, yada, yada.  I asked where was he located since I have a fake Virginia number appearing on caller ID.  He said Las Vegas.  Asked if his business was listed with the Better Business Bureau of Las Vegas or Nevada.  He took the question in a different direction.  I reminded him he wasn't answering my question.  He said, "What do you want to know about my business, I can tell you anything you want."I said, "OK, as long as I'm in front of the computer and you're not giving me an answer, let me do a search of the BBB myself."  Of course, nothing came up as being registered with the BBB and I told him that,  I told him we were also on the Federal DO NOT CALL list.  "Do you know what that means?"  I asked him.  He said yes.  I said, "Goodbye."  He was still yapping as I was hung up.  I wasn't born yesterday.  This company is trying to get me to hand over control of our computer and it's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.  And I hope he reads this!!!!!!!

I got a call from 276-001-7708. It is a tech support scam, trying to get you to let them log into your computer, or press keys on your phone to give them remote access to your phone long distance service.

I got a call tonight also - from this number very heavy accent, male,  fast talker - I refused to go to my computer - he compared me to his mother (red flag).  I asked for a # to call back after I checked it out & he gave me 1-800-878-2302 & a website - no way am I logging on to this website.

This is a major scam - I checked out pcwizard & all the info I pulled up said scam.  Hang up on these people & report them.

Received calls from this number a couple of times over the past week, did not answer. Got another call a few minutes ago and picked up. Male with a thick accent, hard to understand. Said he was calling about computer problems; appeared to be reading from a script. I continued to tell him I was not interested and asked to have my number removed from their call list. He ignored me and kept stating the same information. Very frustrated.....how can these calls be stopped?

I received a call from 276-001-7708 with an unknown name.  It was a man with a heavy Indian accent telling me he was from Windows and was calling me to correct errors on my computer.  I asked him "What computer?" and he said "Your home computer, right?" and I said "No, I don't understand.  Who are you?"  He said "Do you have your computer on, mam?" and I said "Yes" and then he asked me if I was at the keyboard and I said "Yes" then he switched the phone over to a woman and she started to guide me to hit buttons on my computer keyboard.  I asked her again "What is this about?  What are you trying to fix?" and she said "Mam, I will walk you through it."  So, I hung up.  Only to have them call repeatedly 3 more times in a row.  I let the machine get the first 2 calls and answered the third call AFTER I read online that this was a scam.  I told her that I knew this was a scam and that I was going to report them and to never call me again.  The thing that got me was that they called over and over and were very persistent.  They better crack down on this thing.

Lady called and asked for me by name, from Name Not Found on caller ID,  276-001-7708, says my pc is downloading harmful programs that damage microsoft windows and fast talk about where she was from, heavy island accent and hard to understand.  Asked her 3 times to say again, then asked her name and phone number and told her put supervisor on phone, and she refused.  Asked where she got my name and number and she said from available resources from someone else I did business with and would not or could not specify where or who.  I told her to take my name off her calling list and never call me again or I'd be calling the police.  She also gave me 1-800-878-2302 as her number and gave me her first and last name.  Then I hung up after she did.

I just received a call from this # wanting me to go & turn on my computer.  Said they were from Microsoft & that there was unwanted spyware & other things that might be attacking my computer every time I log-on & wanted to help me fix it.  I told them that I didn't have the time because I was trying to put my kids to bed, so I hung up on them.
