Called today. They hung up this time before talking but usually they give you a fake name and pretend you have a problem with your Windows computer. I tell them to stop calling me but they never stop. This number they seem to reuse but unfortunately they seem to do call spoofing as well.

I received a call from 278-533-1198 at 12:41PM 21 Feb 14. Fake Microsoft support call. Attempts to gain access to your computer by trying to convince you there are issues with your computer and if you allow remote access, they can help you. (Don't fall for it - just hang up and add the number to your block list),

Oh oh ...
Hopefully you told your parents to:
* Contact their card company, and tell them what happened.
* Run FULL anti- malware / keypress logger / trojan / rootkit scanners on their computer
* Contact one of the three credit report companies, listed at
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0155-free-credit-reports
and check for any unusual happenings. (They should do that now, and in a few weeks).

It is someone pretending they are from Microsoft and something is wrong with my computer. Doesn't everyone know about this already? I can't believe they are still trying this. I just told him that I knew it was bogus and that he should find something a little less despicable to do with his time.
