I just received a call from this number. It says Michigan Call, but an Indian man speaks. He is calling about my computer. I yelled at him, told him that I am on the DO NOT CALL list, and said that I will be reporting this number. I then hung up. They obviously want to con you into giving them access to your computer.

Just got a call from these guys and they gave me the usual story about how malicious software is on my Windows computer. I asked how they could know that and they said something about a survey or such nonsense. He claimed he wanted to show me the problems on my machine but it wasn't a sales call. I then explained I use a Mac not a PC, at which point he said "You are a liar sir." I was like WTF!?!? He then repeated that I was a liar because supposedly I told him I was using a PC at the beginning of the call, which I never said. I told him never to call back and hung up. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE!?!?

Got a call from this number asking for my hubby and he passed to me and the person knew my name. He asked about my computer and I asked him which one and that was a clue as I have several so he was a spammer and loser from India.

I just got an obscene phone call from this number.

The caller sounded Indian, the number came through as "Michigan Call" and it was in regards to virus protection for Windows. After listening to a minute or so of his sales talk, he asked if I was sitting at my computer now, I replied "No, I don't have a computer," he quite clearly said, "F*** you, B*tch," and I believe he disconnected, then so did I.

Called 2 times. Someone with a middle eastern accent told my Wife that our computer had a virus and he wanted her to log him on so he could fix the problem. Second time they called I answered and they hung up.
JLM 2014-03-05 18:15:36 Unknown
This person has constantly called me for the past year saying he wants to fix my computer. He identifies himself as Mark and he is calling for Windows. Finally this last time I told him I would call Windows and confirm this. He immediately hung up on me.

I get called from this number about two to three times a day. When I pick up there is silence until a message that says, "goodbye."

They're baaack...the computer scammers. Called at 1:40 pm. Don't they realize people are moving away from desktops and laptops. This is getting so old

Aw, the computer virus scam caller from India or who knows where. Back again. Really appreciate how some are getting into their ears with lots of stuff jammed into them. Payback is a B.. you know. I got a call hang up at 2 pm PST. When answering machine came on I heard a slight noise and they hung up fast. Chickens do not like to be recorded. This scam, however, has used so many phone numbers of the years. Report them all and hope for a catch of them.

Dang, got another call from these dip wits. Just another tele-criminal calling, hoping to spread his particular brand of bad cheer. Am tired of the endless harassment. Seems too bad that these tele-thieves change numbers so often, that it makes blocking less useful.
Cindy 2014-02-24 23:52:15 Telemarketer
I get regular calls from these guys telling me they are from the "IT Department". Most the time they curse at me and hang up when I call them on the scam. Now I find myself just saying horribly mean things but it is a great venting method for me so I quite enjoy it. The most recent call had the guy shouting at me, cursing, and then going quite vulgar. He made mention of the town I live near in a threatening manner so that was a twist but then started making some reference to me being a prostitute. I told him that I wasn't interested in his mother's profession.
He finally hung up but called back five minutes later asking if I was interested in having cyber sex. I told him I had a real man that didn't need an internet connection or phone; he hung up again.
They are getting pretty bad and most just laugh and say, "What are you going to do?" They do have a good point because it isn't like calling the police will help. I normally belittle them, asking how it feels to not actually work, to get paid virtually nothing and have so little skills that a computer has to call people for you. They get mad, but like I said I feel better.

I just had a call from this number on my cell and he said he was from Windows. When I told him I didn't believe a word he was saying he hung up. This is not the first scam call I have had unfortunately.

This shows up on my ComCast Voice Mail page as begin from South Africa, and I can't block international calls. Also because we have old phones without caller ID, the only way I know it is from this number is if I have the television on because then it shows up on the screen.
The guy said his name is Phil. He sounds Indian. At first he said he was from 24/7 calling about a problem on my Windows computer, and when I said I don't have one, he asked if he could talk with me "as equals" and then wanted my cell phone number. I wouldn't give it to him, and asked what he wanted to talk about and he said, "Anything", at which point I hung up. He called back and said that the call was dropped. He called back twice more and my husband answered and he didn't speak. The next time he called, he said that he got voice mail, which is not true, and then he tried to demand that I talk with him and I hung up. We then left the phone off the hook for a while.
That was two weeks ago. Besides the calls we answered that day, there were 14 other calls unanswered from the same number. AND there have been multiple calls several days a week since then.
Today he called and I answered it. He asked what I was doing and I said, I was sleeping and you woke me up. He asked if I was sleeping alone, and I said that was none of his business. "Why not?" he asked, and that is when I recognized his voice. I asked him if this was a business call and said that if he didn't tell me the reason for this call, I was going to hang up, and he said Why? So I hung up. And took the phone off the hook. There were eight more calls from that number.
I resent having to leave the phone off the hook to avoid his calls, and/or spend money on a phone with caller ID and/or have the television on all the time so I can avoid him. I would like to block this caller AND if anyone can find out who he is, I will be glad to charge him with telephone harassment.
It sounds like there are other callers in the background when he calls, so he may be calling from an actual telemarketing or customer support company. If so, he is abusing his position.

I received a call from that very same number calls last night. The person on the phone told told me they were with Microsoft and there was a problem with my computer. I told him there was no problem with my computer and that he was trying to scam me. He got angry with me and told me to go to hell. I told him that if he was with Microsoft he definitely wouldn't be talking to me like that and that also substantiates my claim of a scam. He was angry that I knew that he was calling me up bothering me when I was minding my own business and trying to scam me. The nerve of some people.

This call came through, right after another scam call. Have gotten this type of call several times over the last few years, but have never had the displeasure of talking to a person. For the first time I answered the phone today, and said "hello" several times, and then received a recorded "goodbye" before the click of a hang up. Too bad, because I was more than happy to yell at them for awhile before going on with my day. In the past have blocked such numbers, but it doesn't help much since the numbers are spoofed and constantly changing. Our scam calls come through in batches, usually every other workday. This was part of today's scam group, along with the security scam call, and another unknown scam call (which spoofs a local residential number). Usually within the scam batch, there is at least one "beloved" credit card scam. Need to figure out how to have fun with these calls, as there sure isn't anyway too stop them. In 2 days, we shall receive 3 more calls, from a new set of numbers, running another set of scams.
Don't call back, "JACK"!!! 2014-02-18 01:44:30 Unknown
A male caller who said his name was "JACK" in a Southern Asian accent (India/Pakistan?) said he was calling on behalf of Microsoft about the problem I was having with my "Windows" computer. I asked him how he knew I had a computer. He said something like, "You don't have a computer?" At that point, my other-half got on the line. Seems we'd had a call from this number earlier in the day that was not answered. Since a friend of ours had told us of a similar call he'd received recently (coincidentally his computer was in for service at the time,) my prtnr lit into "Jack " asking where he was calling from (he said San Fernando, CA) and did he know where he was calling to. He then said he was calling to talk to my prtnr and gave our address. Then he said he was "compelled" to call on behalf of Microsoft and gave their website:www.microsoft.com. My prtnr then gave "JACK" an earfull about not owning a computer, ("JACK" seemed surprised by this) and not knowing how to even turn one on. After we told him we were going to report this to the "cops," the "JACK-a** hung up. We will report it too so they can advise the community to be aware. Scammers are everywhere.

>>> 278-533-5684
Country: USA
Location: Michigan (Ann Arbor) <<<
This phone number, while in the correct format for a call from area code 278, is NOT a valid number. After checking it out, the rate center designated by the exchange 533, i.e., the second group of three numbers, simply has not been yet been assigned to ANY phone carrier yet in the 278 area code.
It LOOKS good, but it's a fraud -- a spoofed number. Or, it's a foreign number that cannot be displayed on your caller ID properly.
You can verify my assertions at:

He probably has family, or relatives that live in Michigan and he lives in Guyana using Magic Jack. It's cheaper for him to make international calls using Magic Jack.

I received the same phone call tonight and the same malware scam to get onto your computer and I knew it was a scam and played with him for a while. haha He got mad. He's of India decent, but the language he used makes me to believe he is from Guyana. He called me a muddascunt, which is slang for Mother's C#@t.
