Called them back and they seem to be a college matching service based in the Houston, TX area. I got Nellie who sounded american. She wanted to explore college connection opportunities, so I explained I have a degree already please remove me from your call list. I think they got my number in accordance with a job posting website like Monster or something.

What an ignorant comment. She isn't American so she can't have an English sounding name? Many folks around the world have very English sounding names while being in another country.

I started recieving the same calls trying to get me to pay some loan but refusing to give me their address or main phone #, screamed at me, told me this is not a collection matter but Fraud from an unpaid payday loan.  Threatened and threatened and refused to give information, told them I was reporting them and reported to state attorney general, bbb, and to the FTC.  An hours later they left a message saying they need to meet me today to serve me papers.  I hope they get busted.  They cannot file charges for you not paying a loan, even payments were to be drafted from a checking.   If they are collections they are in many many violations but they definitely come across as a scam.

I DON'T KNOW WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE CALLING ME AT WORK AND ON MY PERSONAL TELEPHONE. ONE PERSON IS AMY AND THE OTHER IS SOME LADY NOT SURE CALLING FROM 877-727-8249 AND 281-241-6246 SAYING I HAVE FELONY CHARGES ON ME. TWO OF THEM. THEY ARE CALLING ME DAILY 8 OR 9 TIMES. I WISH THAT THEY WOULD STOP. THEY DON'T LEAVE A COMPANY NAME OR ANYTHING. I WORK FOR THE GOVERNMENT AND I KNOW I DON'T HAVE ANY FELONIES.

Ladg called me stating I was approved for a government grant wworth 50,000 that I would not have to repay. She said the money would be deposited in three days and that a supervisor would call me back to confirm the rest of my information. No one called me back they same lady called me back and said she was sending me 8,300 to western union ans depositing 42000 in to my account but I had to sent her 300 first she said her web site is free grants and loans.org

281-241-6608   is a land line in Deer Park Tx   claiming to be from a Federal Grants Resources Center that I could not find anywhere, be aware, it is a scam

it's a scam. Some Irainian lady saying her name is Amy Russell Claiming to be Government resource grants. Approved for 50,000, but have to go to western union & put a 300.00 security deposit to get the 8300.00. If this is legit why do a security depost have to be paid. The government sends it to you in a lump sum.

I recieved two calls from Ben with an African accent and Emmy with a Indian accent. I was told that I was qualified for 50,000 dollars and I would recieve it in 24 hours.they wanted my bank account number but I gave them a green dot card information. I was then told to pay 300 dollars just to recieve 8,000 dollars of the 50,000 dollars and that the remainder 42,000 would be deposited in my account after i pay the 300 dollars. That's when I googled this number......IT IS A SCAM!!!!! They can all die slow!!!!!!! Lol...... They shouldn't take advantage of people! I have kids and I work hard for my money. The number is (281) 241 6608. DON'T EVEN ANSWER THIS NUMBER!!!

I just received a call from this number, I called back. She said she was from are from the "Government Grant Agency" and they want to give me $50,000. They want my name, address, phone number, social, and check information. When I did not give her my check or bank card she hung up. She said her name was Amy Russell.

I just received a call from this number, hung up on them, they called back and I decided to play with them. Come to find out that they are from the "Government Grant Agancy" and they want to give me $50,000. So after messing with "Sandra" for about ten minutes I told them my name is John Manfrunjunson, made up a date, DOB and last four of the SSN. Called the number back for my "confirmation number" and when I started asking real questions they hung up. Best 25 minutes I've used while at work that I have had in a loooooong time!
My advice - Obviously a scam, have fun with them, call them back, have more fun, wash your hands, wipe on jeans.

I mean, honestly, do they think that the American public is really that dumb? (political nonsense aside)

She did it to me yesterday too and she called again but i didnt send any money i also had a guy that called on 3476376455 say i had a loan and he called him officer mike its a scam also dont answer that number either and you shouldnt have to send money if you are recieving a grant and they should send it right to your account you shouldnt have to go somewhere to get it otherwise if its for school or something then it should be sent to the school

well let me b the first to say watch out for this number a lady by the name of amy russell.......she is not american so how in the hxll is her name amy russell......she called sayin tht i was approved for a grant of $8400 but i would have to wire her a total of $400 to recieve the money thru western union......im mad as hxll and i wnt my money
