received a call from these a**les, it's all fake, there is no paperwork, no warrants, these people have no authority to issue warrants.  Complete scammers, They called me like 4 times in a row this evening, I refuse to answer as much as I would love to give them a piece of my mind and advise them that their phone number is going right to the FBI, but I can't, if I do answer they then know it's a valid number.  Scammers call me everyday, I work in law enforcement and feel powerless.  Today I received calls from 2 scammers, this one and another one, well looks like another call to the FTC and notification to the FBI.

He's nothing more than an outright fraud or a desperate 3rd party collector engaged in illegal practices. The PDL scam has been run into the ground and only the truly ignorant frauds are still trying to use it. Which means that there are only a few thousand of them left. They're a busy bunch.
No one gets arrested. EVER. A debt is a civil matter. Tell him them that all your calls are being recorded and demand written proof of his claims to be delivered by mail. Not e-mail or fax. He will start blustering or will launch into profanity. These morons are known to use swear words that have never been heard before. They can be quite enlightening. It's always good to expand your vocabulary.
To the right of your screen you will find links to answer all of your questions. Educate yourself and then tell others to do the same. These scum need to be eradicated and only a fully aware public can make it happen.
Bottom feeding debt collectors are well known to call your friends, family and employers. They harass in the hope that embarassment will lead you to cough up money. While this might succeed for them in some cases, it also hurts them in the end. More people become aware of their tactics, which leads them to be held in deeper contempt. Many of us here take great pleasure in goading them. Some, like myself, are known to go even further. The foreign frauds are outside our jurisdiction and are relatively immune from prosecution. Luckily, they generally have a mental capacity that qualifies them for the "Special Olympics". So they're about as dangerous as a swarm of gnats. The domestic outfits however leave themselves open to savvy folks willing to go on the offensive. They can be manipulated into incriminating themselves, leading to fines and civil suits. This has actually led to a burgeoning cottage industry. Lawyers of the ambulance chasing variety are actively seeking clients who have been victimized by shyster collection firms. This never leads to big money, but can be an interesting bit of pay-back.
A lesser known fact is that, with a good Attorney, your impact on the debt collector can be far more catastrophic. State laws are in place that can make even the largest agencies sweat. Federal regulations are generally little more than an annoyance. But in the hands of a good Attorney, the laws can be utilized and morphed. The result can be a windfall for a lawyer and a healthy chunk of change for yourself. Fines, Judgements, Court costs and Damages can add up to serious dough. The key is tracking down the offender and amassing enough evidence against them. Finding them is the tough part. Camouflage comes as second nature to a bogus or fraudulent collector. Hiding is their key to survival. But with patience, persistence and intelligence they can all be located.
Sometimes it becomes apparent that all the effort has been pointless. The small firms are usually worth less than the second hand cars in their parking lots. Once found, they'll just close up shop and relocate to another derelict strip mall. Judgements and liens are meaningless to these jokers. They have nothing and never will have anything.
What you want are the larger agencies. They're usually craftier, due to their exposure. But they all have a glaring weakness. They all employ people from the same mold. Only the lowest of the low are willing to pursue a career in debt collection. And none of them are hired for, or hold title to, an IQ that puts them above the border-line retarded level. Put simply, sooner or later they all F***-up. Some just flaunt the laws and do business in the same manner that their industry has done for decades. They have always assumed that they're above the laws and refuse to believe that any consumer would have the audacity to bring them to task. They're learning otherwise. The large firms will rarely appear in court for violations of the FDCPA or for law suits. The legal eagles they employ are masters of out of court settlements. Once they understand that they're backed into a corner and that the plaintiff has overwhelming evidence to prove his case, the checkbooks come out in record time. An admission of failure is the biggest fear to a collection agency. Their survival is based on their reputation of invulnerability. A big court loss is terrifying to a collection agency and they will fork over large settlements to avoid it.
How do I know this, you ask? I've done it. More than once. And I'm in the process of setting up a large firm out of Jacksonville, FL as we speak. Another, out of Austin,TX is next on my list. I've yet to fail, but then again I'm not rich yet either. Wealthy maybe, but I always have been. I do this because I'm pissed at the way our country has turned a blind eye to an industry that should have been brought into line decades ago. And the kicker is, I've never taken a PDL. I'm not even in any debt to speak of.

Inspector lett called me I took payday loan in dec of 10.  Says he has video of me going in and getting loan.  I have never gotten a loan.  Says they are going to file criminal charges on me if I don't pay something.  Asked him to see the pics of me and he told me he couldn't until i paid full restitution off.  Then told me I had secured loan through the next.  I have never gotten a paid day loan.  Crazy part is the called my parents house and then my older brother house to tell me he was gonna file 3 felony warrants on me.
