this number was connected to an ad on craigslist. the author of the post was trying to sell a part to a sail boat. i called the number to ask about the equipment, and at first he sounded really weird and angry and asked where i got his number. i talked about the sail boat and he went on this rant about how he was an agent with the FCC and he needed my name, phone number, address, birthday, social security number, etc and that if i hung up, he would put my phone number 'in a little yellow envelope' and i would be contacted by authorities for breaking the law. i asked him questions about what i'd done that was illegal... but he never would tell me anything. he wouldn't even tell me his name. finally, my husband grabbed the phone and told him he was going to press harassment charges if the guy continued to threaten us and the guy hung up. thankfully, we never gave him any information. it's scary how far some people will go to get your personal information. oh, and within 30 min. of that post showing up, it was gone.... there was a message saying it had been removed from the author. has anyone else had this happen? does anyone happen to know of anything we can do now? or anything we should do?

i posted a listing on craigslist also and got and email reply within minutes asking to call this #. I always google #s before i call them, luckily i came across this. I posted my # on the ad, so if someone wants something they can call me.
